Requirements
  • Hold a Doctor of Medicine degree or equivalent and postgraduate clinical training in Pediatrics.
  • Complete specialty training in Neonatology with certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Hold or be eligible for licensure to practice medicine from the Collège des médecins du Québec.
  • Possess relevant leadership and communication skills.
  • Be able to interact in English and French with patients, families, and health care professionals.
  • Be authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in Quebec at the campus where the position is based.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the Division of Neonatal Medicine and Follow-Up in its clinical and academic missions while contributing as a member of the division.
  • Foster the professional development of pediatric neonatal medicine and follow-up team members.
  • Ensure excellence in clinical care delivery.
  • Ensure delivery of the academic mission, including promoting research and providing a safe learning environment.
  • Represent the Division of Neonatal Medicine and Follow-Up at the level of the Department of Pediatrics.
  • Supervise and teach neonatal nurse practitioner students, medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Participate in research and clinical innovation activities as applicable.
  • Participate on administrative committees and contribute to McGill’s academic mission.
  • Contribute to service activities within the unit, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bilingual French and English language skills are preferred.
  • A strong commitment to acquire the French and English language skills necessary to practice medicine in Quebec.

Club M&A and McGill's Dobson Centre launch acquisition programme as $218B in Canadian businesses set for ownership transition

Club M&A Canada and McGill's Dobson Centre for Entrepreneurship have opened registration for their first Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition programme. The intensive four-day course, running 27–30 October in Montreal, targets professionals and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in acquiring existing small or medium-sized businesses. The programme addresses a significant succession challenge in Canada. According to the Business Development Bank of Canada, nearly one in five Canadian businesses will undergo ownership transition within five years, representing over $300 billion in business revenue. Marc Deegan, founder of R33 Ventures, will serve as programme director. The curriculum covers developing investment theses, target evaluation, financial and legal considerations, acquisition financing, and post-acquisition transition. Instructors include transaction professionals, lawyers, tax specialists, investors, and entrepreneurs with acquisition experience. Admission is by application, with no prior M&A experience required.
