Tekmetric names Young as first CFO.

Tekmetric names Young as first CFO. Kristen Young joins Tekmetric after holding finance leadership roles at Grammarly, Pivotal and SurveyMonkey. Jeff White is the Managing Editor of Counterman. He joined Babcox after a 20-year career in TV News as a Producer. You can contact him at [email protected] Published: August 26, 2026 Tekmetric announced the appointment of Kristen Young as its first chief financial officer. The company said the hire reflects its growth and its commitment to building the financial foundation, product depth and operational scale to support that growth. "Shops feel it when we invest in the right things: in the product, in how fast we move, in the support they get. Bringing in Kristen at this stage is a deliberate bet on doing that even better," said Lauren Langston, president and chief operating officer of Tekmetric. "She's seen what it takes to scale software that people genuinely rely on, and that's exactly the kind of growth we're building toward - on behalf of our shops and the whole industry." Tekmetric added that Young brings experience scaling high-growth software companies, building finance functions from the ground up and helping teams grow with the discipline and rigor to sustain it. The daughter of small-business owners, she has seen firsthand what the right software can do for an operator, a thread she carries into her work for the shops Tekmetric serves. "Tekmetric has built something special: a platform shop owners genuinely rely on, in a market with room to run," said Young. "What drew me in was a team that leads with mission over ego, paired with the rigor to match. My job is simple: make sure every dollar we invest makes Tekmetric better for shops and their customers." About Kristen Young. Young joins Tekmetric from Grammarly, where she built the finance function as the company scaled to more than $700 million in annual revenue. Prior to Grammarly, she led several finance teams at Pivotal, an enterprise software company, guiding the team through its acquisition by VMware. She spent nearly five years at SurveyMonkey across M&A, business development and business operations, and helped take the company public. She began her career in investment banking at J.P. Morgan and in corporate finance and M&A at Booking.com. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Tekmetric launches free benchmarking tool for auto repair shops using data from 15,000 nationwide locations

Tekmetric has launched the Tekmetric Shop Index, a free benchmarking tool for auto repair shops across the United States. The platform allows shop owners to compare their performance against top-performing shops nationwide or within their state, with no account required. The tool measures four key profitability metrics: average repair order, car count, parts margin and effective labour rate. Shop owners can enter their data and instantly see anonymous comparisons drawn from Tekmetric's network of more than 15,000 shops. "You can't improve what you're not measuring," said Sunil Patel, Tekmetric's founder and CEO. The company aims to provide real industry data to help shop owners identify growth opportunities and make informed business decisions. Results remain private and anonymous for all users.
