Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work or another Human Services field and at least two years of experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
  • OASAS CASAC certification as an Advanced Counselor if not a licensed NYSED Qualified Health Professional (QHP).
  • OASAS Clinical Supervision Foundations I and II (30 hours); Advanced and Master Level CASACs must complete this within one year of hire.
  • Alternatively, a licensed NYSED Qualified Health Professional (QHP) with LMSW, LMHC, or LCSW licensure and at least two years of experience in substance use and/or mental health treatment, including at least one year of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatments, managed care principles, and behavior practices.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to program and staff needs.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records (EHR).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient records.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, develop, train, and teach substance use providers and other clinical discipline providers.
  • Ability to implement and monitor policy and procedure in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing substance abuse treatment, including confidentiality, security, and privacy of protected health information.
  • Knowledge of OASAS, Joint Commission, and CSAT guidance.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision to counselors and interns; continuously assess supervisees’ learning needs, develop and implement learning objectives and supervision plans, and complete performance reviews as required.
  • Ensure staff maintain and monitor accurate, complete, and timely client treatment records that comply with regulatory requirements and agency policies and procedures, including proper completion of billing paperwork.
  • Provide direct clinical services to individuals, families, and/or groups, and complete clinical documentation within expected timeframes and in compliance with organization policies and quality standards established by regulatory bodies and the agency.
  • Provide regularly scheduled clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff.
  • Identify staff training needs and plan, develop, and/or conduct training to maintain and improve clinical staff competency and compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Document supervisory sessions with staff.
  • Meet monthly productivity expectations and, with the Program Director, collaboratively establish performance standards and metrics for clinicians and interns.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to review the clinical program design on an ongoing basis and suggest and implement improvements.
  • Ensure program staff uphold the agency's Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including 42 CFR confidentiality requirements and HIPAA privacy and security regulations.
