  • A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
  • Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
  • One or more years of experience implementing and monitoring statistical process controls.
  • Two or more years of experience in manufacturing assembly or mechanical work.
  • A U.S. Person status under applicable U.S. export control regulations.
  • Ability to support occasional second-shift hours.
  • Successful completion of the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process.
Responsibilities
  • Support day-to-day solar cell assembly production processes, including process and equipment setup, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and implement production processes and generate and maintain process documentation to ensure correct and consistent process application in production.
  • Develop and monitor statistical process controls and process parameters to identify and correct process drift and implement continuous improvements to products and processes.
  • Lead engineering activities for capital equipment introduction, including automated resistance welding equipment.
  • Analyze design and build concepts to evaluate producible design and build definitions.
  • Participate in gated process and product reviews and present PFMECA and process and training readiness information to internal and external customers.
  • Lead and implement manufacturing plans and assist in developing and maintaining manufacturing training requirements.
  • Generate and provide rework and repair dispositions and instructions for non-conforming hardware and processes.
  • Assist in identifying tooling and shop-aid requirements based on manufacturing, assembly, testing, and engineering requirements.
  • Identify leading-edge technologies, materials, process improvements, and targeted automation to improve ergonomics, safety, cost, and schedule.
  • Resolve technical problems with significant impact on performance, cost, or schedule.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with solar cell assembly manufacturing, including automated resistance welding, coverglass and encapsulation processes, automated adhesive dispensing, and pick-and-place operations.
  • Experience with solar panel manufacturing processes.
  • Experience maintaining production procedures and documentation.
  • Experience leading or participating in Lean events, including AIW and 3P.
  • Experience with factory automation capabilities, such as machine-tool integration and fabrication.
  • Experience leading root-cause and corrective-action investigations.
  • Experience with database design and development, with SQL preferred.
  • Experience as a process trainer responsible for maintaining training records.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, NASA, AIAA, and other aerospace standards.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor wafer-processing technologies, including wet chemistry, photolithography, and evaporative processing.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and resolving process, test, or software issues.

Revenue over the trailing twelve months reached $94.0 billion, up 24.8%. However, the company still posts a twelve-month operating loss, with operating margin at -5.4%. Analysis of 15 market shocks since 2007 shows Boeing fell an average of 24% from peak to trough, versus 16% for the S&P 500. The deepest drop was 72% during the 2020 COVID-19 crash. More than six years later, Boeing remains approximately 39% below its pre-crash high.

Boeing cuts operating loss by half as it delivers 171 planes in Q2 2026

Boeing shares trade at $208.87, down 12% over the past year, as the company continues to lose money building aeroplanes. However, the rate of loss is shrinking rapidly. Operating margin improved to negative 5.4% over the past twelve months, up from negative 12.4% a year earlier. The second quarter of 2026 turned positive at 0.6%. Boeing delivered 171 aeroplanes in that quarter, its highest total since 2018. The commercial aeroplane unit showed a negative 2.7% operating margin in Q2 2026. Programme cash margins on the 737 and 787 run slightly above breakeven, with management attributing this to pricing drags that dissipate as deliveries continue. Management expects to ramp 737 production to 52 aeroplanes per month, with no supply-chain constraints anticipated. The Air Force One programme took a $280 million charge in Q2 2026.
