Job Summary:

Supplier professional focused on the strategic leadership and relationship of company suppliers to achieve the best financial performance and relationship with assigned product lines

Principal Responsibilities:

Directs and manages the supplier business plan and implementation process throughout the organization leveraging supplier strengths and resources on behalf of the supplier and communicating supplier benefits to the company.
Aligns goals and objectives of supplier with the company to ensure mutual goals and objectives are achieved.
Determines, monitors and recommends plans for the supplier, company business relationship on a tactical and strategic level.
Participates in supplier business reviews providing appropriate data and engaging in resolving issues.
Identifies and drives new supplier opportunities with particular emphasis on the development of new services that blend unique supplier resource/capability along with service/capability to create a unique value proposition.
Supports cross functional communication with the company's product groups in price negotiations and market knowledge.
Responsible for the management of activities and programs that will drive the supplier’s pro-forma performance in an effort to achieve Avnet's financial goals.
Performs analysis and reports of various program impact for the supplier.
Manages forecasting pipeline requirements and rebate projections.

Avnet and University of Hong Kong open EMUS Lab to accelerate AI hardware commercialization

Avnet and The University of Hong Kong have opened the Emerging Microelectronics and Ubiquitous Systems Lab (EMUS Lab) in Hong Kong. The innovation hub aims to accelerate AI hardware commercialisation by connecting research, engineering expertise and supply chain capabilities. Located at Tseung Kwan O InnoPark, EMUS Lab focuses on edge AI, physical AI, robotics and high-performance computing. It provides innovators with engineering consultation, GPU computing resources and prototyping support to transform ideas into market-ready products. The lab has launched the DfMA Launchpad for AI MMP Programme, a 12-month co-incubation initiative supporting AI startups. The programme has attracted 27 startup teams, combining Avnet's supply chain expertise with EMUS Lab's research infrastructure and support from Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation.

Avnet rides AI infrastructure boom with record $8.3B quarterly sales, 48% YoY growth

Avnet continues to benefit from strong artificial intelligence demand, with direct data-centre business representing approximately 10-15% of total company sales. The company is seeing opportunities across AI infrastructure, including power management, connectivity and automation solutions in industrial markets. Avnet's higher-margin interconnect, passive and electromechanical portfolio reached approximately $4.6 billion in fiscal 2026, up from $4 billion in fiscal 2025. Fourth-quarter sales hit a record $8.3 billion, up 48% year over year and 17% sequentially. The company is also benefiting from emerging demand for edge AI applications, including robotics, drones and autonomous systems. Avnet's direct exposure to data-centre customers remains particularly strong in Asia-Pacific, where hyperscaler expansion is driving infrastructure demand.

Avnet moves into new Tempe headquarters. he electronics distributor completed its move from Phoenix into a former GoDaddy corporate campus at Arizona State University Research Park that it purchased in June 2025. Electronics distributor Avnet has moved into its new corporate headquarters in Tempe, AZ, completing a relocation the company announced last year. The 150,000-square-foot building is located at 2150 E. Warner Road within Arizona State University Research Park, near Loop 101 and Warner Road. The property previously served as GoDaddy's corporate headquarters. Avnet purchased the building in June 2025 and at the time said it expected to relocate there in mid-2026. The move shifts Avnet's headquarters from its longtime location at 2211 South 47th Street in Phoenix. The global technology distributor has been headquartered in the Phoenix metro area since the late 1990s. When announcing the purchase last year, Avnet CEO Phil Gallagher characterized the property acquisition as an investment in the Phoenix area and its technology sector, citing Arizona's business climate as a factor in the company's continued presence in the region. Avnet supports customers and suppliers across the technology product lifecycle, providing electronic components distribution alongside design, supply chain and logistics services. The company operates its core Electronic Components segment alongside Farnell, its high-service electronic components distribution business. The headquarters move follows a strong fiscal 2026 for Avnet. For the year ended June 27, the company posted $27.63 billion in sales, up 24.5% from $22.20 billion in fiscal 2025. Net income increased 39.2% to $334.4 million from $240.2 million.
