Requirements
  • At least five years of experience managing personnel, projects, sales and customer service expectations, operational revenues, expenses, and reporting in a leadership position.
  • Willingness and availability during the first six months of employment to complete up to three one-week training trips to St. Louis, Bloomington, Kansas City, or another Kansas City satellite market.
  • Proficiency with Windows-based programs and enterprise resource planning/customer relationship management systems, with a good understanding and use of Excel.
  • Ability to evaluate operational data, processes, procedures, financial results, survey feedback, and other metrics; determine cause-and-effect relationships; isolate key information; and assess the impact of process or procedural changes.
  • Ability to work with technical applications and mechanical systems.
  • A good driving record and valid driver's license are required.
  • Successful completion of references, employment verifications, a background check, and a drug screen is required before hire.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare the annual budget, schedule expenditures, analyze variances, initiate corrective actions, and maintain full profit-and-loss responsibility.
  • Recommend and implement operational and sales procedure or process improvements that increase customer satisfaction and achieve healthy profit margins, return on sales, and annual financial budget or forecast targets.
  • Use operations and process-improvement expertise to advise personnel, support adoption of workplace changes, provide operational assistance and guidance, and mentor employees' careers.
  • Assist with employee and job scheduling, technical and mechanical troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
  • Perform regular audits and ensure staff complete required daily tasks using company best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and use daily, weekly, and monthly division financial reports and metrics to manage daily operations.
  • Hire, train, and develop new employees; improve individual performance through daily coaching, monthly profit-and-loss and scorecard reviews, and yearly performance reviews.
  • Lead meetings, set performance expectations, and hold employees accountable.
  • Maintain professional communication with personnel and customers and resolve personnel matters and escalated customer concerns in a timely manner.
  • Oversee existing customer projects and increase revenues for New Construction, Aftermarket, and Service work across all lines of business.
Desired Qualifications
  • Commercial door industry management experience with strong operational experience and product knowledge.
  • Service provider industry experience, such as heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and air conditioning or another construction or building materials business whose products are sold to end users and installed or serviced at customer sites.
