Mick hosted his final show today, Sept. 18. "Bill has been a trusted and familiar voice for listeners across the Space Coast for more than 25 years," said Judy Copier, Market President for iHeartMedia Central Florida. "His commitment to delivering local news, thoughtful conversation and important information to our community has made a lasting impact on 92.7 WMMB and our listeners. We thank Bill for his many years of dedication and wish him all the best in his retirement." Mick began his Space Coast radio career in 1998 and took over mornings at 920 WMEL/Melbourne in 2001. In 2004, he joined WMMB, where Bill Mick LIVE became a longtime fixture on Space Coast morning radio. For much of his career, Mick also served as Program Director of 92.7 WMMB. Prior to his radio career, Mick spent 17 years in law enforcement in his native West Virginia, including roles in patrol, SWAT and as a detective. In addition to his work on-air, Mick has written nearly 500 bylined columns for publications including Florida Today and the Tallahassee Democrat. "When I started in radio, I was new to Brevard, but talking with local leaders, newsmakers and our listeners quickly taught me about this community and made it home for me and my family," said Mick. Tony Tilford gets a WAKY management gig in Louisville. September 17, 2026 Randy Michaels is filling out his Louisville leadership team with someone from his Jacor days. Former iHeartMedia programming executive Tony Tilford has been named Operations Manager of classic hits WAKY, overseeing day-to-day programming. Tilford began his career in 1985 doing weekends at WKQQ in Lexington. He later programmed WKQQ, WMMS in Cleveland, WTUE in Dayton, and WFBQ (Q95) Indianapolis, and was named Director of Rock Programming for iHeartMedia's Kentucky-Indiana region in 2016 after serving as the company's Regional Senior Vice President of Programming for its Southwest Ohio-Indiana region. Michaels said, "Tony learned programming at Jacor. He is solid. In no time, he will remember how to schedule more music than commercials. Tony knows how to do radio that isn't cookie-cutter corporate, and that is what WAKY needs." WAKY Vice President and General Manager Bill Gentry said, "We are thrilled to have Tony, who has programmed some of America's greatest radio stations. At WAKY, he will be responsible for one of the most unique. WAKY plays music, a lot of it made in Louisville, that no other station plays. Our playlist is wide, deep, and local. Tony will have to get used to operating without a corporate playlist, really without corporate anything. We are locally owned and programmed." "The opportunity to work for Randy Michaels and Bill Gentry again was too good to pass up. It feels like coming home," Tilford said. Share via:
