Requirements

Must hold First Aid and CPR certifications; training is provided.
Responsibilities
Assist with the execution and supervision of recreation activity enrichment programs in varied work environments.
Prepare, set up, and clean up program activities; assist with leading programs; monitor participants, supplies, and equipment; and complete work under supervision by following directions.
Assist the team in providing customer service, answer simple participant questions, and refer complex questions to other staff.
Help create and maintain a positive, safe, and welcoming environment; participate with the group, offer assistance when needed, and monitor changing site conditions.
Desired Qualifications
One year of experience working in the recreation industry and/or working with children is preferred.
A valid driver's license with a favorable driving record is preferred.
Other applicable certifications for a specific program focus may be required.

We are looking for a Part-Time Recreation Leader to join our Kids Crew team during Thanksgiving, Winter and Spring Break, and with kids at Camp Olathe during the summer. This position will need to pass a KBI fingerprint background check, obtain pediatric First Aid/CPR certification and complete paid training for KDHE compliance.
STARTING HOURLY PAY RANGE: $15.81 - $16.58 BASED ON EXPERIENCE

The Recreation Leader I is responsible for assisting with the execution and supervision of a diverse range of activity enrichment programs in a variety of work environments. The Recreation Leader I is an introductory position that will work under direct supervision. This position is part of a three-level career progression of Recreation Leader I, II and III.
Key Responsibilities
Contributes to the success of recreation programs; prepares, sets up, and cleans up program activities; assists with the leading of programs; monitors program participants as well as supplies and equipment; completes work under supervision by following directions.
Assists team in providing excellent customer service; is available to participants for questions and feedback; answers simple questions, promptly referring more complex questions to other staff.
Assists fellow staff in creating and maintaining a positive, safe and welcoming environment for participants and other staff; participates with group and offers assistance when needed; maintains awareness of changing site conditions.
Qualifications
Experience: One year of experience working in the recreation industry and/or working with children is preferred. Must be 16 years of age or older.
Education:A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Licenses & Certifications:First Aid and CPR certification required- training provided. Other applicable certifications for specific program focus may be required. A valid driver's license with favorable driving record is preferred.
