Requirements
  • Associate of Arts degree from an accredited Interventional Cardiovascular Technologist program, registration by Cardiovascular Credentialing International, and licensure by the State of Washington as a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.
  • Associate of Arts degree from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program, registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and licensure by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except where legal requirements such as a license, certification, or registration apply.
Responsibilities
  • Scrub, monitor, and circulate complex interventional cardiology cases.
  • Communicate with physicians and other staff about changes in the patient’s condition, including hemodynamic monitoring and symptomatology.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities within the department as applicable.
  • Perform or support complex coronary procedures including percutaneous coronary intervention, chronic total occlusion, and brachytherapy.
  • Perform or support structural heart procedures including transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter mitral valve replacement, MitraClip, tricuspid clipping, left atrial appendage occlusion, and atrial septal defect, patent foramen ovale, and ventricular septal defect procedures.
  • Perform or support heart failure and transplant procedures including biopsies, right heart catheterization, Impella, TandemHeart, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and intra-aortic balloon pump procedures.
  • Perform or support adult congenital heart disease procedures.
