About the job

Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Design and own end-to-end agentic systems, including retrieval, orchestration, inference, evaluation, and feedback loops.

  • Build infrastructure and tools that help the company move faster, including debugging, observability, and agent testing.
  • Hire, mentor, and collaborate with engineers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with vertical software businesses or agentic AI systems.

About the company

Pathwork launches AI Commissions Engine to automate insurance brokerage reconciliation

Pathwork, a San Francisco AI platform for life and annuity insurance distribution, launched Commissions Engine, an autonomous commissions tool for brokerages. It is available now through an early access program. The software uses a firm's own policy data and commission agreements to retrieve carrier statements, reconcile payments, calculate producer pay, and flag missing revenue. Staff review only exceptions rather than every transaction. It covers more than 7,000 products from more than 250 carriers and integrates with Salesforce, AgencyIntegrator, SmartOffice, and OneHQ. Highland Capital Brokerage and Pickett Group Inc. are among the first users. Pathwork's platform is already used by more than 100 brokerages for underwriting and casework. Chief executive officer Ian Levinsky said the tool lets commissions teams spend their time growing the business.

Pathwork gives life insurance brokers instant access to medical claims data with AI insights

Pathwork, an AI platform for life and health insurance distribution, has launched a service giving life insurance brokers on-demand access to prescription and medical claims data used in underwriting. The platform allows brokers to review clients' health histories in seconds before submitting cases, replacing weeks-long waits for physical records. The San Francisco-based company has built HIPAA-compliant infrastructure to handle sensitive health data, which previously made broker-side access impractical. Prescription history covers a seven-year lookback with daily updates, whilst medical claims data returns on over 80% of applicants, averaging 200 clinical data points per person. The company says using this data can reduce attending physician statement orders by approximately 90%, cut lab orders by 90%, and accelerate underwriting turn times by 55%.

Pathwork and NGL launch AI tool to cut insurance underwriting inquiry time by 25%

Pathwork and NGL Insurance Company have launched PreQual Manager, an AI-powered system that streamlines pre-application inquiries for life and long-term care insurance underwriters. The platform processes unstructured broker emails, extracts key details, matches them against underwriting guidelines and generates draft responses for underwriter review. NGL, which receives nearly 1,000 pre-application inquiries monthly, has reduced time spent per inquiry by 20–25% at launch whilst maintaining underwriter authority over final decisions. The system provides guideline-based rationale alongside recommendations, improving consistency and clarity for brokers. Founded in 1909 and headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, NGL operates across 49 states and the District of Columbia. Pathwork describes itself as an AI-native automation platform purpose-built for life, annuities and health insurance distribution workflows.
