Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in integrated marketing/communications managing “the making” or delivery of great work for government clients
  • 2+ years of direct management experience with strong leadership qualities, to manage the professional development of team members
  • Existing relationships with top tier media contacts (national and trade)
  • Persuasive communicator with exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong background in the strategy and development of integrated communications programs
  • Agency experience required
Responsibilities
  • Drive all aspects of media relations including strategy, pitch development, program development, and execution to deliver integrated solutions
  • Provides counsel and executes media and advocacy relations activities
  • Deep understanding of local and national media (print, digital and social), influencers, advocates, and their needs
  • Monitor breaking issues, including the ability to highlight media coverage of the brand/client and competitors
  • Oversight and direct development of a broad range of materials including client memos, press releases, media alerts, messaging documents, Op Eds, speeches, and articles
  • Conduct media training for executives and staff
  • Nurturing and growing key senior client relationships by being a trusted advisor
  • Immersing yourself in the essential dynamics, strategies, and drivers of your client's business
  • Foreseeing opportunities and formulating plans to drive/extend the client and agency's business
  • Putting clients first, interfacing regularly with all client levels and constantly hunting for solutions and big ideas that are innovative and relevant
  • Demonstrating strong collaboration skills with internal teams, using Agency resources to support client's business effectively and seamlessly
  • Working with internal ops leadership, ensuring their client team is right-staffed and structured to meet client needs
  • Building strong, collaborative, and trusted relationships with project managers, creative and strategic partners
  • Acting as an open and willing resource to team members in assessing ideas and directions, and providing guidance to push further
  • Manages overall financial performance of accounts; forecasts client revenue and supports/manages client P&L, business growth and operating margins
  • Leads efforts to develop and achieve company revenue and profitability projections
  • Helps Ogilvy and our clients to develop a positive image in relevant communities (e.g., business media, political, interest groups) that are important to our professional performance
