- Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited Magnetic Resonance Imaging program.
- Registration as a Radiologic Technologist with one year of diagnostic radiology experience, or registration through the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance registry in lieu of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiologic Technologist certification and diagnostic radiology experience.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- Operate magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce tomographic films of designated portions of the human body for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an outpatient setting.
- Registration as an MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Magnetic Resonance registry or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists Magnetic Resonance registry.
- One year of MRI training and experience.
