Refrigeration Mechanic
About the job
- Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or an equivalent trade qualification.
- A current Refrigerant Handling Licence (Arctick).
- A QBCC Licence or the ability to obtain one.
- Current CPR/LVR Certification.
- A current Restricted Electrical Licence.
- Australian citizenship or full Australian working rights.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Previous experience in facility maintenance across domestic and commercial sectors.
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capabilities across HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to work autonomously and effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to travel safely to and from work.
- Physical fitness and ability to work long shifts of up to 12 hours.
- Ability to endure remote environments in extreme weather conditions.
- Must pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
- Candidates must be local to the advertised area or willing to relocate at their own expense.
- Perform preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on commercial and domestic HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs on air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
- Conduct inspections and ensure all equipment remains compliant with relevant safety and operational standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and completed work orders.
- Provide service while maintaining a focus on safety and teamwork.
- Work across remote village and mining operations on a 2:2 FIFO roster, with two weeks on-site followed by two weeks at home.
- Work long shifts of up to 12 hours.
- A positive, customer-focused attitude and willingness to assist wherever required.
- A National Police Check dated within the last six months; otherwise, the successful candidate will be required to obtain one.
