Raw Rev: vegan power snacks. As well as being 100% vegan, non-GMO and free from palm oil, Raw Rev ingredients are minimally processed, keeping their production less energy-intensive than highly refined alternatives. In a time when even "plant-based" can often come with a side of processed fillers and excessive sugar, the quest to find a suitable protein bar can sometimes feel confounding. Enter Raw Rev, a brand that has been, for years, quietly pursuing the art of the affordable, high-protein vegan snack bar. From their FAQ: What does Raw Rev mean? (Raw Rev's founder) Alice lived in NYC in the early 1990's during a RAW food revolution! People were soaking raw organic cashews in bathtubs and hosting basement plant-based potlucks in secret Gotham locations! During this time her entrepreneurial mind started dreaming up the beginnings of her first product line appropriately named: Raw Revolution. While the Raw Rev website makes it clear the bars are a not a "raw food" product per se, the company has remained true to Alice's original vision of a bar based on the wholesome nutrition of nuts and seeds. The flagship Raw Rev Glo line was designed with a specific philosophy in mind: radiant health starts from within. Here's why they stand out in a crowded market: * High Fiber, Low Sugar: Most bars rely on sugar alcohols or syrups to stay tasty. Raw Rev uses prebiotic fiber to keep net carbs low while supporting gut health. * Clean Protein Sources: You won't find mystery "isolates" here. They utilize a blend of pea protein, brown rice protein, and hemp protein to provide a complete amino acid profile. * Healthy Fats: With a base of nuts and seeds (like cashews, sunflower seeds, and flax), these bars provide sustained energy and satiety without a sugar crash. Rooted in values: woman-owned, family-operated, and plastic neutral. Unlike many of the companies behind your go-to snacks, Raw Rev isn't a faceless corporation. It is a woman-owned business and remains family-operated, ensuring that every bar produced meets the standards set by its founders. Furthermore, when you choose Raw Rev, every bar is proudly made in the USA. As well as being 100% vegan, non-GMO and free from palm oil, Raw Rev ingredients are minimally processed, keeping their production less energy-intensive than highly refined alternatives. Raw Rev's plastic neutral commitment. Sadly, protein bars tend to come wrapped in multi-layered plastic films that are notoriously difficult to recycle. While Raw Rev continues to search for better packaging solutions, they've taken measures to offset their footprint by partnering with rePurpose Global. For every pound of plastic Raw Rev uses in its wrappers and shipping materials, they fund the removal of an equivalent amount of plastic waste from the environment. This funding specifically targets "nature-bound" plastic - waste that is at high risk of ending up in oceans or landfills, often in regions that currently lack formal waste management infrastructure. Through this partnership, Raw Rev's contribution helps to remove over 2,500 pounds of plastic waste every single year, as well as providing: * Stable Income: Professionalizing the work of informal waste pickers. * Fair Wages & Safety: Ensuring workers have protective gear and a dignified, living wage. * Women's Empowerment: Many of these local waste-management initiatives (particularly in places like India and Indonesia) are led by or predominantly employ women, aligning perfectly with Raw Rev's status as a woman-owned business. Alongside these offsetting efforts, they also: * Use SFI and FSC(R) Certified Cartons (sourced from responsibly managed forests). * Work with packaging vendors that utilize wind energy to power their production. * Actively pressure suppliers to develop high-barrier, fully compostable or recyclable films that don't compromise the freshness of the bars. Flavor profile: which is your match? The Raw Rev lineup offers something for every palate: The verdict. Whether you're fueling up for a hike, surviving a long afternoon at the office, or looking for a post-exercise recovery snack, Raw Rev delivers. They prove that a bar can be vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, kosher, and socially responsible, without losing the pleasure factor. "Eating well shouldn't be a chore. It should be a revolution." - The Raw Rev Spirit Share to.
Karnataka Zero Waste Initiative on Earth Day. News Service To enable recovery of 4.5 million kilograms of waste over a 3-year period, connect 80,000 households, and integrate 50 coastal villages into structured formal waste management systems Bengaluru, 21 April 2026: On the occasion of Earth Day, Sattva Group, in partnership with Knowledge Realty Trust and rePurpose Global, has announced the launch of the Karnataka Zero Waste Initiative, a multi-year programme focused on building structured, community led waste management systems across the state's coastline. At Sattva Group and Knowledge Realty Trust (KRT REIT), growth is approached with the understanding that it must remain aligned with the environment and communities. As organizations engaged in building and managing high quality, sustainable environments for modern India, there is a clear recognition that environmental health and community wellbeing are fundamental to meaningful progress. The Karnataka Zero Waste Initiative extends this approach by enabling systems that improve ecological outcomes while strengthening local livelihoods. Spanning three years, the initiative addresses the growing challenge of plastic waste along Karnataka's 320 Km coastline, where plastic accounts for 60 percent coastal litter. The programme is designed to put in place waste management systems that are locally run, financially viable, and capable of delivering consistent and measurable results. The initiative will connect over 80,000 households to formal waste management systems and integrate 50 coastal villages into formal waste management systems, improving waste handling at the source. It will support 200 waste workers through stable livelihoods, skill development, and safer working conditions, helping build a more secure and dignified waste value chain. In parallel, it is expected to enable the recovery and responsible processing of approximately 4.5 million kilograms of waste, improving coastal conditions and reducing environmental leakage into marine ecosystems. Commenting on the initiative, Shivam Agarwal, Vice President, Strategy, Sattva Group, said: "Protecting Karnataka's coastline and addressing the growing challenge of waste is essential to sustaining the environment and improving the overall quality of life. The coastline is a vital ecological and economic asset, and improving its condition has a direct impact on local livelihoods and communities. Through the Karnataka Zero Waste Initiative, we are enabling structured, community-led waste management systems that strengthen local practices while creating more secure and dignified livelihoods. With a strong focus on awareness and participation, the initiative is designed to deliver measurable improvements and contribute to a cleaner, more resilient coastline for the state." A strong focus on awareness and everyday behavior change is central to the programme, encouraging communities to adopt more sustainable habits and take greater ownership at the local level. Better segregation, collection, and processing systems will also help move towards a more circular approach to material use, reducing dependence on landfills. Jiji Thomas, Head - ESG & Sustainability, Knowledge Realty Trust said, "As a responsible REIT, Knowledge Realty Trust (KRT) recognizes that environmental stewardship extends beyond our asset boundaries. Coastal waste is a material ESG risk with implications for climate resilience and long-term asset value. By supporting integrated waste systems, we are embedding sustainability into our operations and the eco systems that support them. While our implementation partner will spearhead mid-stream interception and downstream actions like clean up to control waste leakage to sea, our focus will be on creating awareness on upstream control to be exercised by urban centers to reduce land-to-sea waste burden" The Karnataka Zero Waste initiative is being implemented in collaboration with rePurpose Global, a leading packaging sustainability and compliance platform, and the Centre for Applied Research and People's Engagement (CARPE), the designated non-profit recipient of programme funds. While rePurpose Global brings expertise in designing and executing waste recovery systems aligned with global best practices and will lead on-ground implementation, CARPE, a social enterprise, contributes deep capabilities across solid waste management, green cover enhancement, and water body restoration through data-driven and research-led methodologies. Knowledge Realty Trust further strengthens the programme through its focus on governance, transparency, and stewardship, ensuring a structured, accountable, and scalable approach to impact. Aditya Siroya, Chief Impact Officer and Founder, rePurpose Global added, "Addressing waste at scale requires systems that are locally embedded and operationally robust. This partnership is focused on building models that reduce environmental impact while enabling communities to participate meaningfully in the process." The Karnataka Zero Waste Initiative reflects a broader shift towards development approaches that are more responsible and inclusive. By combining measurable outcomes with community ownership, the programme aims to create a model that can be sustained and expanded over time, contributing to a cleaner and more resilient Karnataka. Marleybones snaps up £2.5M to scale Pantry Fresh(R) dog meals. New funding led by TAW Ventures, highlighting strong female representation, will enable Marleybones to scale its Pantry Fresh(R) range across retail and D2C and advance its sustainability efforts. London-based Marleybones, a premium dog food brand, has closed a £2.5 million funding round led by TAW Ventures, the investment firm founded by Jane Lauder, with follow-on support from JamJar Investments, Active Partners, and Animal Health Angels. The round stands out for its strong female representation, with a female-founded company and an all-female investor team, still rare in European venture capital. Founded in 2020 to bridge the gap between quality and convenience, Marleybones offers Pantry Fresh(R) meals that are slow-cooked, nutritionally complete, and packaged in sustainable cartons. The range also includes vet-developed supplements, an omega oil, and natural air-dried treats, each vet-approved and produced in the UK. This investment follows over 200 per cent growth since the previous round and several milestones: expanded retail distribution, new product partnerships, a line of functional supplements, and a pilot veterinary channel. We've built strong traction across D2C and retail, expanded into supplements, and proven category demand with triple-digit growth. With TAW Ventures and JamJar by our side, we're ready to accelerate our journey to make Pantry Fresh(R) a household standard. On sustainability, Marleybones partnered with rePurpose Global to achieve plastic-neutral certification, sources 100 per cent of UK-made products from locally grown British ingredients, and packages all meals in fully recyclable Tetra Pak cartons, avoiding millions of single-use plastic pouches and trays. Josephine Bager, co-founder of Marleybones, noted that the company's growth reflects strong demand for dog food that doesn't compromise on nutrition or ease of use. She said the Pantry Fresh(R) meals show that both can be delivered together, and the new funding will help Marleybones reach more customers and continue shaping the fresh dog-food category. The new funding will expand teams across creative, customer experience, and retail, build brand awareness via influencers, PR, retail activations, and events, and accelerate performance marketing and customer acquisition.
