Responsibilities
Plan, implement, supervise, and evaluate activities within the assigned program area, such as the teen leadership program.
Create an environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
Encourage engagement, participation, and consistent attendance among youth enrolled in activities.
Establish rapport with youth and provide mentoring, guidance, role modeling, and direction for leadership development, artistic skills, physical activity engagement, and academic progress.
Implement and administer programs, services, and activities effectively.
Monitor and evaluate programs, services, and activities to ensure member safety, program quality, and the appearance of the club.
Engage members in activities and provide a safe environment.
Support members' emotional and social development and encourage understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
Plan and facilitate purposeful, engaging activities and group projects.
Submit regular lesson plans and attendance sheets and perform other administrative duties.
Participate in training, staff development activities, and club staff meetings.
Maintain close daily contact with club staff, volunteers, members, and the supervisor to exchange information, discuss issues, explain guidelines and instructions, instruct, collaborate, and advise or counsel.
Clean, set up, and close down the program area daily.
Desired Qualifications
Certifications and credentials in the relevant skill-based activity are highly preferred.
CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred.

JOB TITLE: YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONAL- TEEN
DEPARTMENT: CLUB OPERATIONS

Youth Development Professionals plan, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area: Tween or Pre-Tween Program/Teen Leadership
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES: (not all-inclusive)
Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
Ensure engagement, promote and stimulate participation, and consistent attendance of youth enrolled in activities.

Minimum of two years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is required
Certifications and credentials in respective skill-based activity highly preferred
CPR and First Aid Certifications preferred
Valid State Driver’s License

Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Required to stand, walk, and sit. Able to use hands and fingers on a (computer) keyboard and other office equipment.
Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds during a standard 4 or 8 hour shift.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Perform Safety-sensitive culture requiring a constant state of alertness.
The noise level in the work environment is high due to work is conducted in a Club setting, indoor/outside.
It is the policy of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County that applicants for employment undergo level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment.
All applicants for employment or to volunteer who are selected for an interview will be provided with the Consent to Background Screening form for level 2 screening, and/or an Affidavit of Good Moral Character. The leading candidate for employment will be required to execute the Consent form and report to a designated location and submit fingerprints for level 2 screening.
No applicant for a designated position will be employed until the level 2 screening results are received, reviewed, and approved by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, Office of Human Resources.
Level 2 background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for statewide criminal and juvenile records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and federal criminal records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and may include local criminal records checks through local law enforcement
