Role: Oracle HCM Fusion Techno-Functional Consultant

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Oracle HCM Fusion Techno-Functional Consultant who can independently manage end-to-end HCM Cloud functional processes while also contributing hands-on technical support (Fast Formulas, BI Publisher reports). The ideal candidate is process-strong in Core HR and Absence Management, comfortable owning modules independently, and genuinely curious about picking up new areas of Oracle HCM Cloud as business needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Functional (70%)

• Own and manage Core HR, Absence, Journeys configuration, transactions, and support across the complete Hire-to-Retire lifecycle (new hire, transfers, promotions, terminations, rehires, global transfers, etc.) and related workforce management processes.
• Configure and support Absence Management — absence types, plans, accrual rules, and related transactions
• Experience with Oracle Fusion HCM embedded AI capabilities, including Generative AI, Predictive AI, and AI Agents. Ability to evaluate, test, and support AI-enabled HR solutions while ensuring appropriate governance, security, data privacy, and business adoption.
• Lead and execute HDL (HCM Data Loader) based data loads for bulk data migration, mass updates, and periodic data refreshes
• Act as the go-to person for day-to-day Core HR transactional issues, troubleshooting, and end-user support
• Independently take ownership of new/unfamiliar HCM modules assigned by the project -analyze requirements, configure, test, and deploy with minimal supervision
• Participate in requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, solution design, and functional documentation (BRD, functional specs, configuration workbooks)

• Configure and support Oracle Journeys, including design and maintain Journey templates for employee lifecycle processes.

• Support UAT, cutover, and hypercare activities during implementations and rollouts
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, IT) to ensure smooth data flow and process integration
• Provide functional guidance during system upgrades, quarterly patches, and testing of new Oracle features
• Maintain and update SOPs, process documents, and training materials as needed

Technical (30%)

• Design, build, and troubleshoot simple to moderately complex Fast Formulas (e.g., for eligibility, validations, absence calculations, DBI-based formulas)
• Develop and maintain simple BI Publisher (BIP) reports — creating data models, designing report layouts (RTF/Excel templates), and scheduling
• Support HDL file preparation, troubleshooting load errors, and validating data post-load
• Assist in basic configuration of OTBI reports as needed
• Coordinate with technical/offshore teams for complex technical builds (integrations, complex reports, or extensions) when required
• Perform debugging of formula/report errors and provide root-cause analysis

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–10 years of overall Oracle HCM experience, with at least 3–4 full lifecycle implementation and/or support project exposure on Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud
• Strong, hands-on functional expertise in Core HR (Global HR) — hire to retire transactions, worker management, org structures, grades and Absence Management
• Working technical knowledge of: HDL (HCM Data Loader) for bulk loads and data migrations, Fast Formulas (simple to intermediate complexity),BI Publisher (BIP) report creation
• Strong understanding of Oracle Fusion HCM data model and security (role-based access, HDL templates, etc.)
• Proven ability to independently pick up and own new modules with minimal ramp-up support
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot functional and basic technical issues
• Excellent communication skills — able to interact directly with business stakeholders and translate requirements into system configuration

Good to Have (Added Advantage)

• Experience in US Benefits administration and configuration
• Experience in Compensation (Individual Compensation, Total Compensation Statements, Salary/Compensation cycles)
• Oracle Cloud HCM certification(s) in Core HR, Absence, or related modules

Ideal Candidate Profile

• A functional-first consultant who is equally comfortable getting hands-on with basic technical builds
• Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership — able to run point on a module independently
• Curious and adaptable — genuinely interested in learning new Oracle HCM modules beyond current expertise
• Strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable working directly with business/HR teams
• Detail-oriented, especially around data accuracy in HDL loads and transactional processing.
