Requirements
  • Graduate from or complete a program that meets eligibility requirements for registry or certification, or currently hold the required registry or certification.
  • Hold registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Computed Tomography.
  • Hold Basic Life Support certification.
  • Have a minimum of two years of Computed Tomography experience, which is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized tasks associated with operating Computed Tomography scanners, power injectors, and related equipment in accordance with radiation safety procedures.
  • Position patients for Computed Tomography scans using positioning devices and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Perform examinations accurately according to established protocols, policies, and patient safety standards.
  • Assist the radiologist with interventional Computed Tomography procedures.
  • Evaluate Computed Tomography scans for technical quality, collate processed images in exposure sequence, label images appropriately, and transmit them to the Image Archival System.
  • Schedule patients for procedures and assist with clerical functions.
  • Dispense or order oral contrast for patients undergoing Computed Tomography scans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records.
  • Provide orientation and training to new Computed Tomography technologists.
  • Provide psychological and physical care to patients and their families during Computed Tomography scans.
  • Provide education and training to student technologists.
  • Coordinate scheduling and patient flow.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in intravenous placement for contrast administration.
  • Demonstrate proficiency and accuracy in performing all examination protocols.
  • Perform Computed Tomography-specific technical assistance on supervisor-assigned projects, including team lead duties, research and development, protocol development, charge reconciliation, and equipment demonstrations.

  • A minimum of two years of Computed Tomography experience.
