  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • At least one year of metrology technician or related work experience is required.
  • The ability to read and interpret safety instructions, standard operating procedures, policies, manuals, technical procedures, and government regulations is required.
  • The ability to write clearly, communicate effectively, enter calibration data, write reports, and prepare business correspondence is required.
  • The ability to perform basic mathematical operations using whole numbers, common fractions, decimals, and percentages, and to draw and interpret bar graphs is required.
  • The ability to understand and effectively apply written and oral instructions is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required, along with the ability to learn new manufacturing software systems.
  • Basic computer skills, including use of calibration management software, are required.
  • The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions is required.
  • Candidates must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Candidates may be required to pass occupational health screening and obtain and maintain gowning certification.
  • Candidates must meet the stated physical requirements, including lifting, pushing, pulling, sitting, standing, reaching, and manual dexterity, with reasonable accommodations available.
Responsibilities
  • Complete calibration certificates in an orderly and neat manner.
  • Review calibration data for accuracy, dates, and completeness.
  • Use computers to enter calibration data and perform other calibration software tasks.
  • Communicate instrumentation problems to users and management.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and make minor repairs.
  • Calibrate major systems with supervision.
  • Maintain accurate and current measurement and test equipment procedures and documentation.
  • Coordinate regularly with vendors to have measurement and test equipment calibrated by designated laboratories according to individual equipment requirements.
  • Read and interpret standard operating procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain up-to-date training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and repair measurement and test equipment throughout the facility to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Schedule and perform calibrations and maintain detailed calibration records.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate degree in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical training with three years of experience in calibration, instrumentation, or electronic troubleshooting is preferred.
