  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Manufacturing or equivalent experience with an excellent understanding of quality management practices is desired.
  • Three to five years of job-related experience are required.
  • Good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise personnel responsible for preventing quality problems through the development and maintenance of quality metrology measurement equipment.
  • Manage Gage Lab, Air Tool Repair, and Torque Tool processes.
  • Set priorities and establish inspection schedules for Air Tool, Torque Tool, and Metrology equipment and process.
  • Ensure conformity to global quality processes defined in the Caterpillar Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Manage the execution and adherence of procedures in calibration and metrology principles as applied to multiple measurement disciplines.
  • Train, motivate, and develop employees, instructing them on how to determine the quality of work with the aids of inspection gauges and blueprints.
  • Engage with Component Groups, Global Quality resources, and Facility Management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior Supervisory Experience.
  • Coordinate Metrology Society’s (CMS) quality certification.
  • Knowledge of shop operations and maintenance procedures is required.
