Requirements
  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or electrical engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Three to seven years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably in switchgear, electrical, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is required.
  • Experience with process design, workflow optimization, and production planning is required.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design software and manufacturing simulation tools is required.
  • Experience with automation, robotics, or smart manufacturing technologies is required.
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and UL, or equivalent standards, is required.
  • Ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers is required.
  • The role requires the ability to install and test equipment and train employees in powder coating processes.
  • The role requires the ability to develop recipes based on material type, thickness, and color combinations.
  • The role requires the ability to manage the pH value of degreasing and discharge water according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency standards.
  • The role requires the ability to create an annual Environmental Protection Agency report for discharge water in collaboration with the Safety department.

Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production.
  • Partner with production, quality, and supply chain teams to drive continuous improvement, support new product introductions, and solve production challenges.
  • Install and test powder coating equipment and train employees on powder coating processes.
  • Develop powder coating recipes based on material type, thickness, and color combinations.
  • Manage the pH value of degreasing and discharge water according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Environmental Protection Agency standards.
  • Create an annual Environmental Protection Agency report for discharge water in collaboration with the Safety department.

Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems or enterprise resource planning systems integrated with powder coating equipment is a plus.
  • Experience in switchgear, electrical, or industrial equipment manufacturing is preferred.

Nominations open for annual Excellence in Manufacturing Award. September 08, 2026 The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber and MAGNET are seeking nominations for the Chamber's 10th annual Excellence in Manufacturing Award, which recognizes a Valley manufacturer for excellence in longevity, growth and product or workforce innovation and achievement. Eligible manufacturers must be located in Columbiana, Mahoning or Trumbull counties and be a member of the Regional Chamber or Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce. Companies are encouraged to self-nominate. Past recipients of the Excellence in Manufacturing Award are Boardman Molded Products, Haltec Corporation, Quality Switch, Panelmatic Building Solutions, Commercial Metal Forming, Schaefer Equipment, a Division of Wabtec Corporation, Millwood Inc., HYNES Industries and Redex Industries, maker of Udderly Smooth.
