Requirements
  • At least 2 years of carrying and hitting a quota as a Business Development Representative or Sales Development Representative.
  • At least 2 years of successfully managing a Business Development Representative or Sales Development Representative team.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring ability across representatives of different seniority levels.
  • Fluency with metrics, forecasting from leading indicators, and accountability for top-of-funnel metrics.
  • A track record of building and refining playbooks, sequences, and researched target account lists, with a focus on strategic process improvement.
  • Hands-on fluency with a modern sales technology stack, including Apollo, Nooks, Gong, and Salesforce.
  • Strong command of outbound messaging and sequencing, with an understanding of what makes outreach effective.
  • Experience selling to technical or cloud and infrastructure buyers.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coach a team of four Business Development Representatives of mixed seniority through weekly one-on-ones, number reviews, live call reviews, and discovery listening.
  • Own the team’s qualified meeting output, monitoring meetings booked, calendar health, show rates, and each representative’s performance against target.
  • Remain hands-on with outbound calling, model effective outreach, assist junior representatives with difficult prospects, and workshop messaging with senior representatives.
  • Build and continuously refine the outbound engine, including sequences, call and email playbooks, and researched target account lists with a clear thesis.
  • Own weekly forecasting and pipeline reporting, partnering with the Director of Sales to review expected qualified meetings and diagnose performance gaps.
  • Improve messaging, sequencing, and personalization through A/B testing and leading-indicator metrics.
  • Help hire, onboard, and ramp representatives while deepening their understanding of the company’s domain, competitive and FinOps landscape, and buyer personas.

Archera has launched support for Google Cloud, extending its Guaranteed Commitments service across all three major cloud providers. The Bellevue-based cloud cost optimisation platform now offers Guaranteed Committed Use Discounts (GCUDs) for Google Cloud customers. GCUDs allow users to access committed-use discount savings with terms as short as 30 days, without the typical one- to three-year lock-in required by native Google Cloud commitments. Archera guarantees against overcommitment by rebating costs for unused capacity if usage falls short. The service covers key Google Cloud services including Compute Engine, Google Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, and BigQuery. Customers purchase directly through Google Cloud Marketplace whilst Archera manages the commitment guarantees. The platform is free to install, with costs for guarantee services fixed below the savings achieved.

(Archera Photos)Archera, a Seattle-based startup that sells tools to help companies reduce cloud computing expenses, raised $17 million in a Series B investment round.Founded in 2019 by brothers Aran Khanna and Nikhil Khanna, Archera offers a free product that crunches a company’s cloud-related finances to identify ways to save costs and take advantage of promotional credits.The startup generates revenue via a separate offering called “Insured Commitments.” Companies will often sign long-term commitments with cloud computing providers to receive discounts. But it can be difficult to predict how many resources are needed, and for how long.Archera provides a middle ground by selling insurance-backed guarantees. The company will pay the cost of any remaining unused resources for customers that have the guarantees.The idea is to help companies reduce the risk of overcommitting to cloud computing capacity for projects such as migrations or infrastructure transitions.“Archera makes money by taking in more in premiums than we pay for customers unused commitments,” Aran Khanna told GeekWire.Khanna said customers use the guarantees for generative AI-related projects “to hedge the technical risk associated with committing to a set of GPU machines for training and inference long-term.”Archera announced that it secured $100 million in lending capacity to expand underwriting capabilities.The startup has a “co-sell” partnership with Amazon Web Services and plans to establish similar deals with Microsoft and Google.The 22-person company said it has increased its revenue run rate by 500% year-over-year.
