  • A diploma or degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field, or equivalent technical training or experience, is preferred.
  • Additional training on laboratory or industrial equipment is an asset.
  • One to two years of relevant laboratory or technical experience is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience with laboratory instrumentation is an asset.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the setup and execution of routine laboratory experiments, tests, and analyses.
  • Prepare and process samples according to standard operating procedures while maintaining compliance with Good Laboratory Practice and ISO 17025 standards.
  • Operate, calibrate, and perform basic troubleshooting of laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Perform routine checks such as balance verification and equipment performance monitoring.
  • Conduct basic analytical testing, such as pH, carbon monoxide, NOx, or other assigned parameters.
  • Handle chemicals and reagents safely in accordance with WHMIS and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Accurately record, review, and manage data using LIMS and standard software tools such as Microsoft Office.
  • Maintain proper documentation, including raw data, logs, and quality records.
  • Identify and report deviations, out-of-specification results, or out-of-control results.
  • Support quality control activities and adhere to laboratory quality programs.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and general upkeep of the laboratory.
  • Perform routine maintenance and assist with troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Participate in daily safety checks and follow health and safety procedures, including personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Collaborate with team members and support cross-functional activities as needed.
  • Adhere to project requirements, standard operating procedures, applicable regulatory guidelines, quality systems, and regulatory standards; maintain data integrity and report conditions that could affect personal safety or study integrity.
