Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards, including HIPAA, GDPR, and mental health-specific regulations.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare and telehealth regulations and advise the leadership team on potential impacts.
  • Oversee licensing and accreditation processes for healthcare providers and facilities.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including service agreements, provider agreements, partnerships, and vendor contracts.
  • Maintain corporate governance policies, ensuring adherence to best practices and legal standards.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors on governance, policies, and risk management strategies.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks affecting the company.
  • Oversee litigation, claims, and dispute resolution, engaging outside counsel as needed.
  • Develop and implement policies to minimize liability, including patient privacy, malpractice, and employment law compliance.
  • Advise on employment law matters, including employee relations, benefits, and workplace policies.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, including those related to healthcare professionals.
  • Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and expansion into new markets.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to structure innovative business models while maintaining legal and regulatory compliance.
  • Support fundraising, investor relations, and corporate transactions.
