About the job
- A B.E. or B.Tech in Civil Engineering is required.
- Five to eight years of experience in residential or building construction, including strong hands-on site exposure, is required.
- Genuine interest in structural design and building quality is required.
- The candidate must be organized and systematic in maintaining files, trackers, and follow-ups.
- The candidate must learn quickly, demonstrate analytical strength, and be comfortable holding their ground with senior consultants and contractors.
- Experience guiding and developing junior engineers is required.
- Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera, AutoCAD, and advanced Excel is required.
- Willingness to travel regularly to sites is required.
- Lead, mentor, and review the work of three junior planners, and set company-wide planning standards.
- Build and track master and site-level schedules, identify slippages early, and drive recovery plans with site teams.
- Provide indirect oversight of quantity surveying, billing, sourcing, and contracting; check quantities, review contractor bills, support tenders and comparative statements, and ensure contracts match scope.
- Track material testing, quality checks, and audit findings across sites, and close out non-conformances.
- Provide leadership with concise, reliable reports on progress, cost, and risk.
- Coordinate with architects and structural and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing consultants to ensure drawings are complete, coordinated, and issued on time; challenge designs that compromise quality or buildability.
- Maintain a clean, version-controlled system for drawings, approvals, requests for information, and project records.
- A postgraduate qualification in Construction Management, such as NICMAR, or Structures is a plus.
