  • Ability to make independent judgments.

  • Three years of experience in an administrative support capacity.
  • Two years of supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and evaluate the work of administrative support personnel within the City Attorney's Office.
  • Coordinate City Council agendas, timekeeping, budget preparation support, personnel and employment support, division accounting, report compilation, and law library organization.
  • Prioritize, organize, assign, monitor, and evaluate subordinate work assignments and quality control.
  • Coordinate and monitor administrative procedures.
  • Collect and review staff reports and supporting materials to draft or oversee City resolutions and ordinances presented to the City Council.
  • Monitor and provide information for preparation of the Council agenda.
  • Monitor City Council meetings and communicate resulting departmental work assignments to departmental personnel.
  • Gather input, compile information, and submit results regarding the Executive Session Council agenda.
  • Compile and analyze information and prepare reports and recommendations regarding support staff office efficiency, personnel, equipment, technology, and training needs for the City Attorney's final approval.
  • Maintain current chapters of the city code and distribute updates according to departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Supervise the receipt, distribution, and archiving of documents, including quality control for outgoing documents.
  • Provide input for the City Attorney's Office budget regarding support staff business and law library account needs.
  • Compose and type letters, memoranda, and reports for City Attorney's Office staff and review items for accuracy.
  • Receive calls from the public, research and resolve requests, or transfer calls to the appropriate party.
Desired Qualifications
  • Legal Assistant certificate classes.
