About the Job

Requirements

  • Eight or more years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • A proven track record supporting internal operational technology, including manufacturing, test, lab, or production equipment on a network the candidate was responsible for.
  • Experience as the primary owner and final escalation point for a multi-site network estate, accountable for its design and not only tickets.
  • Hands-on ownership of an enterprise firewall and switching platform at policy and architecture level; familiarity with Fortinet is helpful, but vendor-specific experience is not required.
  • Experience with VLAN and Layer 3 design, routing, and firewall policy between zones under real constraints.
  • Experience with VMware networking and hybrid connectivity to at least one major cloud.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise network end to end, including campus, WAN, wireless, VPN, and data center.
  • Implement and operate firewall policy across zones in collaboration with the Cybersecurity Engineer, contributing the network perspective to decisions about permitted communications.
  • Support manufacturing and test engineering as they add equipment, including statically addressed, unpatchable, internet-restricted, and inflexible equipment.
  • Maintain hybrid connectivity to Azure and AWS, including the underlying VMware networking.
  • Maintain network segmentation as the business grows, finding accommodations rather than granting exceptions.
  • Establish standards, diagrams, and change practices suitable for onboarding a second network engineer.
  • Own enterprise network architecture, segmentation design, operations, and final escalation for network matters.
  • Implement and operate network controls that carry out shared security standards and policy, and remain accountable for their practical operation.
  • Own the enterprise network and its accommodations for internal operational technology, partnering with controls engineering at the IT/OT boundary.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience maintaining network segmentation while a manufacturing or test function grew quickly, including the ability to describe a compromise the candidate was unhappy with.
  • Experience as the only network engineer at an organization and understanding of the responsibilities that entailed beyond technical skill.
  • Experience working alongside a dedicated security function and describing a firewall or access decision involving disagreement and how it was resolved.
  • Experience working closely with controls or automation engineers and understanding typical points of debate at the IT/OT boundary.
  • Interest in industrial network architecture and OT security and willingness to gain more exposure alongside the controls team.
  • Professional- or expert-level certification in enterprise routing and switching, or in a major security platform.

About the Company

Electric Hydrogen

Manufactures large-scale electrolyzer plants for hydrogen

Electric Hydrogen (EH2) designs, builds, and installs large-scale electrolysis plants that produce green hydrogen for heavy industry. Its flagship product is a 100 MW complete electrolyzer plant that can be manufactured in a factory, shipped, and commissioned in about three months. The system uses stacks of electrolysis cells powered by renewable electricity to split water and create hydrogen, offering a no-emissions alternative to fossil fuels. EH2 differentiates itself by delivering much larger, turnkey plants at a lower cost than typical electrolyzers and by accelerating deployment, enabling faster decarbonization of sectors like fertilizer, ammonia, steel, chemicals, and fuels. The company’s goal is to make green hydrogen economically competitive and scalable for industrial decarbonization, supported by significant funding and large-scale projects in North America.
