Requirements
  • Three or more years of experience in purchasing, materials coordination, inventory management, logistics, Shipping & Receiving, or a related manufacturing function.
  • Experience creating and managing purchase orders within an enterprise resource planning system.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • The candidate must be comfortable working in both an office and manufacturing environment.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively with suppliers, production employees, supervisors, and other departments.
  • The candidate must be able to identify material risks and raise concerns with an appropriate sense of urgency.
  • The candidate must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • The candidate must be comfortable providing daily direction, coaching, and accountability to employees.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and other standard business systems.
  • The candidate must have strong organization, prioritization, follow-up, problem-solving, decision-making, attention to detail, and accuracy skills.
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain purchase orders in the Microsoft Dynamics 365 enterprise resource planning system.
  • Monitor open purchase orders, follow up with suppliers, and expedite materials when necessary.
  • Communicate material shortages, supplier delays, and availability concerns to affected departments.
  • Coordinate purchasing of aerospace coatings, paint, chemicals, production materials, and operating supplies.
  • Confirm material specifications, approved suppliers, lead times, quantities, and availability before placing orders.
  • Review upcoming customer and production requirements to identify long-lead or difficult-to-source materials.
  • Identify alternate suppliers for critical materials to reduce production-delay risk.
  • Work with suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, delivery expectations, and service concerns.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels and reorder points for production materials and supplies.
  • Review material pricing and communicate changes that may affect quoting, costs, or division performance.
  • Provide daily direction and direct supervision to the Shipping & Receiving team, including work priorities, training, accountability, and performance expectations.
  • Support receiving, staging, material movement, and outbound shipping processes.
  • Ensure designated Shipping & Receiving and Order Entry personnel verify received materials and accurately record purchase order receipts in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Help resolve quantity, condition, specification, documentation, and supplier discrepancies.
  • Work with Production and scheduling to confirm required materials are available before work is released.
  • Coordinate with Customer Care, Estimating, Quality, Finance, and Operations regarding material needs and customer delivery commitments.
  • Monitor supplier delivery, material availability, receiving timeliness, shipping accuracy, and on-time delivery measures.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, inventory, and receiving documentation.
  • Support process improvements within purchasing, materials management, and Shipping & Receiving.
  • Assign and prioritize work for Shipping & Receiving and Order Entry employees, provide training and coaching, monitor performance, address concerns, and support a safe, organized, and accountable work environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous team-lead or supervisory experience.
  • Manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with aerospace, metal finishing, specialty coatings, paint, chemicals, or other specification-driven materials.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • An associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related area.

Cascadia Capital has advised Pioneer Metal Finishing on securing new debt financing from TCW Private Credit. Pioneer, a portfolio company of Aterian Investment Partners, will use the funds to refinance its existing facility, fund capital expenditures, and cover transaction fees and expenses.
