- At least one year of warehouse shipping and handling experience is preferred.
- Experience with WMS AS 400.
- Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Inventory management experience is preferred.
- Ability to safely operate all warehouse equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of the fresh produce or perishables industry.
- Ability to communicate effectively in written, verbal, and oral presentations.
- Ability to plan, organize, implement, and follow through on projects.
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet short deadlines.
- Critical-thinking skills, including using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Ability to communicate with all levels of internal and external management.
- Adaptability and flexibility to react quickly to changing internal and external requirements while maintaining communication with all parties.
- Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, and reach regularly.
- Availability to work flexible hours and days, including weekends and holidays.
- Walk the warehouse and cold rooms, including the Repack and Partials room, multiple times daily to inspect the overall quality of all facility inventories.
- Open cases, check receiving dates, and verify proper case rotation in pick slots.
- Work with warehouse staff to check back-stock products on upper-tier racking.
- Work with Sales and Buying departments to recommend moving products to the Repack Department or clearance.
- Work closely with Buyers, Quality Assurance, and Operations to communicate needs and opportunities.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Assist with third-party and customer audits to obtain or maintain certifications.
- Report quality and food-safety issues and trends to management.
