  • Experience extracting DB2/AS400 data through Change Data Capture or scheduled batch extraction into cloud storage, including JDBC connections, mapping table dependencies, and re-platforming legacy SQL for distributed computing.
  • Experience integrating Guidewire Cloud Data Access or InsuranceSuite to replicate complex Property and Casualty insurance schemas and transforming operational databases into analytical-friendly cloud schemas.
  • Experience using Databricks and Apache Spark to build ETL/ELT pipelines with ACID transactions, schema evolution, upserts, and slowly changing dimensions Type 2.
  • Experience translating legacy procedural code, such as RPG/COBOL logic and stored procedures, into distributed patterns using PySpark, Spark SQL, and Scala.

  • Experience automating data validation frameworks to prevent data loss or corruption during system transitions.
  • Experience managing Databricks serverless resources, cluster sizing, and compute costs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Databricks notebooks, jobs, and workflows to replicate and enhance DB2/Guidewire-based pipelines and transformations.
  • Implement Delta Lake tables and patterns, including bronze/silver/gold layers, ACID, time travel, and schema evolution, for migrated data.
  • Integrate Databricks with AWS/S3 or Azure ADLS, ADF/Synapse, Key Vault, and Snowflake as required.
  • Optimize Databricks clusters, jobs, and queries for performance and cost.
  • Implement incremental loads, Change Data Capture patterns, and batch schedules for large datasets.
  • Collaborate with Snowflake and dbt teams to ensure consistent data models and data contracts.
  • Participate in data validation and reconciliation between DB2 400/Guidewire and Databricks outputs.
  • Follow coding standards, version control, and CI/CD practices using Git/Azure DevOps.
  • Provide defect fixes and support during SIT/UAT and post-go-live stabilization.
