Requirements
  • A Master's degree.
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in research, thought leadership, or strategy roles, with increasing leadership responsibility.
  • A significant publication history, including written publications, briefings, and data-driven tools.
  • Deep knowledge and expertise within the Defense, Security, and Justice sector or elements of the sector, with the ability to connect research to real-world implications.
  • Strong analytical, research, and project management skills, including expertise with large, complex data sets and statistical methods using R, Python, and Stata.
  • Experience using large language models and similar artificial intelligence tools to facilitate deeper research and develop new analytic approaches.
  • Deep knowledge of current public-sector and national-security trends.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing and communicating for executive audiences.
  • The ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights and compelling narratives.
  • A recognized presence in the Defense, Security, and Justice market through publications, media appearances, conference presentations, or industry contributions demonstrating thought leadership.
  • A proven record of leading and inspiring high-performing teams.
  • Strong stakeholder-management skills and the ability to build consensus in complex, matrixed environments.
  • Experience in a professional-services environment and comfort operating in a matrixed organization.
  • The ability to travel 0–10% on average, based on the work and clients or industries served.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Responsibilities
  • Engage with senior Deloitte leaders across the firm to define and lead the Defense, Security, and Justice research agenda, aligning it with strategic priorities and emerging industry challenges.
  • Design and oversee multiple large-scale, multi-method research studies concurrently, including surveys, econometric modeling, artificial-intelligence-enabled analytics, and structured interviews.
  • Advance innovative research methodologies by integrating cutting-edge tools, academic rigor, and diverse data sources to generate unique insights.
  • Cultivate collaborations with academic institutions, industry partners, and global thought leaders to expand the Center's research reach.
  • Develop and promote new research methodologies using generative artificial-intelligence tools to increase research quality, variety, and quantity.
  • Serve as a visible thought leader within Deloitte's public-sector community.
  • Publish research, deliver keynote presentations, and engage with media to elevate Deloitte's brand.
  • Translate complex findings into clear, compelling narratives for executive audiences and drive market impact.
  • Position research as a catalyst for client conversations, policy dialogue, and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and communicate key industry trends and their implications to clients and the business.
  • Contribute to an environment that values intellectual rigor, collaboration, and inclusion.
  • Mentor emerging researchers and help them grow into visible thought leaders.
  • Manage project delivery and quality, ensuring research meets Deloitte's standards and deadlines.
  • Partner with Deloitte industry and sector leaders to translate insights into solutions for real-world client problems.
  • Engage with government executives, policymakers, and global leaders to present findings, test hypotheses, and influence decisions.
  • Identify emerging issues and white-space opportunities to guide new research and strengthen Deloitte's position in key markets.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with space-industry topics, including commercial space, military space operations, space policy, and the evolving space economy.
  • A Secret, Top Secret, or SCI security clearance.

AI forces companies to rethink hiring practices as job applications surge and entry-level pipelines shrink

Business Insider convened 15 HR and C-suite leaders in Davos to discuss how AI is reshaping hiring and talent pipelines. The roundtable, presented by Indeed, revealed growing concerns about entry-level positions and skills assessment. Deloitte's Elizabeth Faber emphasised maintaining a "human-led, technology-powered" approach whilst carefully navigating reduced junior hiring. TCW's Melissa Stolfi noted her firm has downsized its analyst class but maintains a pyramid structure to preserve apprenticeship culture and future leadership pipelines. Indeed's chief economist Svenja Gudell warned that whilst tech employers now demand five-plus years' experience, this creates future talent shortages if junior hiring continues declining. Deloitte to hire 50,000 employees in India, eyes Mangaluru expansion

Deloitte plans to hire 50,000 employees in India and is evaluating Mangaluru, Karnataka, as a potential new location, according to South Asia CEO Romal Shetty. The company currently employs 140,000 people in India, representing one in four Deloitte employees globally. Shetty said India hosts 50% of all global capability centres worldwide, with significant growth potential in Tier II and Tier III cities. He proposed creating digital economic zones integrating GCCs, GPU-based data centres, startups and academic institutions to accelerate expansion. The CEO called for streamlining GCC setup processes from six months to two weeks, whilst acknowledging infrastructure constraints around energy and water for data centres. Shetty noted Mangaluru offers advantages including talent availability and real estate, adding the company's presence there is a matter of timing.
