Branch has launched High Yield Savings, a new savings feature embedded in its app and partner applications, debuting first in the Uber Pro Card. The tool allows workers to earn up to 3.25% APY on savings, with no fees or minimum balance required to open. To earn the top rate, users must maintain an average daily balance of £500 or more. The feature targets hourly, tipped, and 1099 workers who often face unpredictable income and limited savings options. Users can transfer money at any time, set up automatic contributions on various schedules, and watch interest accrue monthly. "High Yield Savings delivers a rewarding, competitive rate that variable-income workers can actually access," said Branch founder and CEO Atif Siddiqi. The feature will initially roll out to Uber Pro Card holders before expanding to other Branch-powered applications.
Branch announces new Flex model to simplify earned wage access integration. Branch announced on July 14 the launch of its new Flex model for earned wage access, offering companies and platforms a faster and easier way to embed this feature into workplace applications. The company said the new configuration allows businesses to integrate earned wage access in weeks instead of months, removing much of the traditional engineering work required. According to Branch, the Flex model enables employers to offer workers access to their earned wages through existing debit cards via Branch Direct or through the Branch App. The company said this flexibility is designed to meet growing demand from both employers and employees for timely pay options. Atif Siddiqi, founder and CEO of Branch, said, "Earned wage access has moved from a nice-to-have to a baseline expectation for today's workforce, and the question we hear from customers is no longer whether to offer it but how. Embedding earned wage access into the workplace apps workers open every day can drive engagement, adoption, and ongoing usage. These new configurations make that embedded experience far simpler to launch, so companies can turn earned wage access into a key value-add that differentiates and enhances their platform, while giving workers a compelling benefit they can rely on." The company outlined that with either Core or Flex models, workers have multiple options for receiving pay: instant transfers for a small fee or two-day delivery at no cost via an existing debit card; Core users may also receive instant transfers at no cost through the Branch App. All configurations provide workers with clear earnings visibility and fee-free options. Branch stated its infrastructure supports not only EWA but also other payout solutions such as paycard and direct deposit for W-2 employees - including unbanked or underbanked individuals - cashless tips and mileage reimbursement, 1099 contractor payouts, W-2 employee payments, and embedded finance services. The company emphasized its role in helping businesses streamline operational workflows related to worker payments by integrating financial technology into existing systems across industries like hospitality, staffing marketplaces, vertical SaaS platforms, workforce management systems, and more.
Branch, a workforce financial infrastructure provider, has launched new configurations for its earned wage access offering. The company introduced a Flex model that eliminates integration work previously required for embedded experiences, allowing employers to incorporate EWA into existing workplace apps more easily. The new options enable workers to access earned wages through their existing debit cards via Branch Direct or the Branch App. Branch was the first EWA provider to offer fee-free on-demand pay for both workers and employers. "Earned wage access has moved from a nice-to-have to a baseline expectation for today's workforce," said Atif Siddiqi, Branch's founder and CEO. The company serves hospitality, staffing, and marketplace sectors. Branch's infrastructure supports various payment methods including paycard, direct deposit, and contractor payouts.
Branch, a workforce financial infrastructure provider, has launched TipCalc, an automated tip pooling and payout solution for restaurants. The platform replaces manual spreadsheets with automated calculations, integrating with point-of-sale systems to pull real-time check and labour data. TipCalc allows restaurants to configure custom tip pooling rules based on revenue centres and job codes, automatically calculating and distributing cashless tips to workers at the close of each night. Workers can receive tips directly in their Branch account at no cost or opt for instant delivery to a debit card for a small fee. The solution includes built-in reporting and alerts for large tips, helping reduce disputes and improve transparency. Branch already powers workforce payments for hospitality brands including Union Square Hospitality Group, Domino's and Jimmy John's.
Branch, a workforce financial infrastructure provider, has expanded its Embedded 1099 payouts solution to include end-to-end tax filing capabilities. The system now combines contractor onboarding, payments and tax filing into a single platform, handling W-9 collection, IRS verification, earnings tracking and 1099 form submission. GigSmart, managing over two million workers, is the first marketplace to adopt the new offering. The platform automates Tax Identification Number verification throughout the year, then submits 1099 forms to federal and state authorities during tax season whilst delivering copies to workers. The solution aims to help platforms balance fast contractor payments with compliance requirements. Branch CEO Atif Siddiqi said the system provides both reliable payouts and tax filing capabilities in one scalable platform purpose-built for contractor-centric businesses.
