Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the creation, posting, and processing of Workday actions by connecting with and training administrative personnel.
  • Supervise support and assistance for employees and managers in staffing and payroll-related data changes.
  • Coordinate complex academic affairs staffing functions, including position reclassifications and promotions supporting the Tenure and Promotion process.
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and review faculty staffing processes in accordance with regulatory requirements, best practices, and university needs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of faculty personnel records, ensure file accuracy and compliance, and audit Workday actions.
  • Investigate complex faculty staffing and payroll errors and work with stakeholders to identify appropriate corrective action.
  • Develop and analyze complex staffing reports, summaries, reviews, and related documents, and audit staffing and payroll documents as necessary.
  • Prepare internal and external correspondence and communications, assist in drafting procedures and policies, and coordinate policy, rule, and procedure reviews.
  • Provide expertise to supervisors and employees on faculty staffing questions, partner with managers to understand staffing challenges, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare workshop and presentation materials and provide guidance on academic hiring and staffing practices, compliance, laws, regulations, and ethics.
  • Communicate academic affairs processes, practices, and policies to employees through formal and informal messages.
  • Work with international services, faculty affairs, student employment, graduate professional school, research, and tax on complex employment questions.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and university employment rules, regulations, and administrative procedures.
  • Prepare complex academic affairs reports, present reports to leadership and management when applicable, oversee studies of faculty staffing needs and problems, and recommend actions.
  • Oversee the collection and dissemination of survey results.
  • Coordinate planning and logistical support for events and programs when assigned.
  • Serve as a resource for departments, colleges, and divisions on faculty and staff staffing functions in academic divisions when assigned.
  • Cross-train on specialized Academic HR processes, including classification and compensation, immigration, onboarding, payroll, performance evaluation and management, and recruitment when assigned.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources staff on process, service, and program updates, and attend Human Resources trainings and informational meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
