Requirements
  • Consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five years.
  • Ability to use a computer to communicate via email.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher, as well as Adobe Acrobat and related tools and technology.
  • Industrial experience in facility layout design for industrial equipment and manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with national codes and standards, including the International Building Code, American Institute of Steel Construction, American Welding Society, National Fire Protection Association, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Code of Federal Regulations, and Americans with Disabilities Act.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code 101.
  • Knowledge of preparing Construction Specifications Institute-formatted specifications.
  • Fire protection design skills involving fire barriers and penetration seals.
  • Working knowledge of MicroStation computer-aided design and drafting; AutoCAD experience with willingness to learn MicroStation is acceptable.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture or current Architectural Registration.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Eligibility for Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as Employment Authorization, by the U.S. Government's designated Security Office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • Ability to meet established work milestones and delivery schedules.
  • Ability to perform duties in a competent and professional manner.
Responsibilities
  • Provide architectural support services to assigned Savannah River Remediation project teams.
  • Analyze existing facilities and perform space planning.
  • Develop design criteria, facility conceptual designs, and construction drawings.
  • Perform fire protection design, including fire barriers and penetration seals.
  • Coordinate with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.
  • Research materials and develop specifications.
  • Research, analyze, and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Prepare Construction Specifications Institute specifications.
  • Review vendor documents.
  • Provide construction oversight and support project closeout.
  • Use Savannah River Remediation processes and procedures to provide architectural services.
  • Establish, manage, pursue, and fulfill annual goals and objectives.
  • Support business development and other efforts on behalf of ProSidian Consulting.
  • Travel occasionally for meetings, events, site visits, or training when required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Facility security architectural experience.
  • Familiarity with cost estimating and quantity takeoffs.
