About the company

Hamster provides an AI-native workspace that helps product and engineering teams coordinate the software development lifecycle by focusing on alignment over speed. It uses a 'Brief it, Plan it, Ship it' workflow in Hamster Studio where teams capture full project context in briefs, which an AI engine converts into a structured plan with tasks and acceptance criteria executed by AI coding agents. Key features include Taskmaster for AI-driven task management with dependencies, Hamster Chat for collaborative scope discussion and context sharing, and integrations with Jira, Linear, and GitHub for two-way sync. The goal is to help teams deliver software that matches the original intent by keeping humans aligned on strategy while AI handles execution, offered via a SaaS model with a free signup and 14-day trial.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • August 28, 2026 releases added live agent steering and document editing.
  • July 28, 2026 SOC 2 Type II attestation removes a major procurement barrier.
  • July 15, 2026 Grok 4 support widens model choice and performance for teams.

What critics are saying

  • Linear, Notion, and GitHub can bundle similar AI workflows by 2027.
  • Jira two-way sync remains incomplete, blocking enterprise adoption before Q4 2026.
  • If teams trust agents less after a bad ship, Hamster’s core workflow collapses.

What makes Hamster unique

  • Hamster’s June 11, 2026 launch centers product alignment, not generic code generation.
  • Briefs, plans, and context graphs preserve decisions across the entire delivery workflow.
  • Two-way sync with Linear, Jira, GitHub, Asana, and Confluence embeds Hamster deeply.
