Requirements
  • A Bac+5 degree from a leading engineering school, business school, or university, with a quantitative, finance, environmental, or climate orientation.
  • Three to six years of experience gained in consulting, a Big Four firm, a financial institution, a Sustainability/ESG, Strategy, Finance, Risk, or business function.
  • Significant exposure to climate, nature, or financial-risk topics.
  • Expertise in one or more Climate & Nature Risk domains, including physical risks, transition risks, nature and biodiversity, stress testing, scenario analysis, credit-risk modelling, capital, financial analysis, geospatial analysis, or data science.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills in modelling, statistics, econometrics, finance, or data science, with the ability to translate climate and environmental factors into economic, financial, and risk-parameter impacts.
  • Good command of climate and nature modelling tools, data, and frameworks, including Python, R, SQL, SAS, QGIS/GIS, Power BI or Tableau, and NGFS, IPCC, CopERNICUS, and ENCORE.
  • Good understanding of prudential frameworks and operational uses, including European Central Bank and European Banking Authority expectations, ICAAP, RAF, stress testing, capital planning, and environmental scenario analysis.
  • Ability to integrate model results into origination, pricing, client advisory, prevention, portfolio management, and Risk & Finance decision-making processes.
  • Fluent French and English in a professional context, with the ability to work in an international and multidisciplinary environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop quantitative methodologies to assess the exposure and vulnerability of assets, counterparties, and portfolios to acute and chronic climate hazards.
  • Model the effects of climate-transition pathways on sectors, counterparties, and portfolios, including impacts from carbon prices and regulatory, technological, energy, and market changes.
  • Develop quantitative methodologies to measure nature and biodiversity dependencies, impacts, and pressures across activities, assets, and portfolios.
  • Design and adapt forward-looking climate scenarios using NGFS and IPCC frameworks, and calibrate physical, energy, regulatory, and macro-financial shocks.
  • Construct nature-degradation, resource-scarcity, and environmental-policy scenarios and model their effects on counterparties, assets, activities, and solvency.
  • Analyse and quantify climate and environmental impacts on risk parameters, collateral valuations, market values, operational losses, and credit, market, operational-risk, portfolio, and stress-testing models.
  • Integrate climate and nature indicators, scores, and risk factors into origination, pricing, advisory, prevention, portfolio management, RAF, ICAAP, capital planning, budgeting, and financial trajectories.
  • Identify, select, combine, and industrialise climate, environmental, financial, sectoral, geospatial, and ecosystem-service data for risk models and stress tests.
  • Design interactive maps, geospatial analyses, exposure and vulnerability heatmaps, risk and portfolio dashboards, scenario visualisations, and decision-support tools using QGIS/GIS, Power BI, and Tableau.
  • Manage client relationships on existing engagements and participate in identifying and developing new opportunities.
  • Supervise consultants on client engagements and internal projects, including working groups and training.
  • Contribute to the team's publication policy through strategic consulting work, prospective studies, and sector analysis.

Sia acquires Kaiser Associates to launch global corporate strategy and M&A business line

Sia, a global management consulting group, has acquired Kaiser Associates, a US-based strategy consulting firm, to launch a dedicated Corporate Strategy, Private Equity and M&A business line spanning the US, UK, France, Middle East and Australia. Founded in 1981, Kaiser Associates brings 65 consultants and operates from Washington, D.C., New York and London. The firm specialises in go-to-market strategy, growth assessments and market landscaping for Fortune 500 executives and private equity funds. Kaiser Associates' leadership team, including Ali Cumber, Paul Mumma and Jon Meyerholz, will join Sia as partners, with Meyerholz heading the new business line as managing partner. The acquisition expands Sia's North American presence and strengthens its position in private equity advisory.
