- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required; a Utah license is preferred, and a license from any U.S. state will be considered.
- Three to seven years of experience in a similar role in the mineral processing industry is required.
- Experience developing mechanical engineering deliverables for an engineering project or study is required.
- Understanding of applicable statutory standards and codes is required.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics is required.
- Ability to perform detailed calculations and close out work is required.
- High analytical ability to solve complex problems is required.
- Verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Design and perform calculations for mechanical equipment and systems, including pumps, conveyors, and platework items.
- Prepare and review datasheets, specifications, scopes of work, vendor document reviews, lists, calculations, schematics, and other engineering documentation and reports.
- Manage assigned packages and coordinate with vendors, clients, draftspersons, interdisciplinary engineers, and other key stakeholders during design and procurement activities.
- Coordinate with vendors during the supply phase of projects, prepare technical and commercial bid evaluations, and recommend a vendor.
- Specify system components or direct product modifications to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Recommend design improvements to enhance operational efficiency and quality.
- Provide technical expertise and support in mechanical engineering design, calculation, operation, maintenance, field execution or supervision, and project management as required.
- Complete other tasks required to produce mechanical deliverables for ongoing studies or detailed engineering work.
