  • 3+ years of software engineering industry experience with a high level programming language
  • BS/MS or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or relevant work experience
  • Experience defining API schemas and developing backend services in a microservices environment
  • Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL
  • Experience writing clear and scalable design documentation
  • Experience designing, building and improving a set of team owned components
  • Great communicator and collaborator
  • Collaboration with a geographically distributed team
Responsibilities
  • Be a champion of the team’s safety and affordability mission by building impactful user facing products and serve as the risk data platform between for other teams at the company
  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, operate and maintain existing or new elements of our Road Safety Product suite
  • Write well-crafted, well-tested, readable, maintainable code
  • Incorporate considerations for business context and failure modes in your work
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
  • Share knowledge by giving brown bags, tech talks, and promoting appropriate tech and engineering best practices
  • Participate in on-call rotations, respond to incidents, and support other teams mitigate customer impacting events
