Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Responsibilities
  • Manage college-wide residential life communities to include development, implementation, and management of operations strategies.
  • Supervise students and/or professional level staff.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to groups/stakeholders inside and outside of the university.
  • Travel throughout campus for meetings or events, regardless of the weather.
  • Live in university provided residence hall apartment.
  • Provide a high level of student service and create a meaningful community which fosters academic excellence and personal growth for residents.
  • Be a highly visible and strong presence in your residential college or upper-division community.
  • Be available to be called into service at any time to meet students' needs.
  • Engage in management of residential communities and activate a First Year Residential College or Second Year and Beyond Experience.
  • Collaborate with academic partners to develop and implement appropriate programming and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with staff, students, and faculty and collaborate with various departments to develop and implement programming.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with college students in a higher education or student affairs environment.
  • Knowledge of administrative operations of a residential community.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budgetary practices.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles.
  • Knowledge of human or student development theory and practices.
  • Experience in the development of programming and activities.
  • Experience in training and managing behavioral education as required in a residence hall complex.
  • Experience in working with a student resident population and with a wide variety of campus professional staff (e.g., counselors, police, health professionals).
  • Experience in using personal computers and related software applications.
