Requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills sufficient to effectively interface with individuals at various levels within and outside the organization, exchange information, work cooperatively, and facilitate understanding.
  • Ability to develop long-standing relationships with funders and S:US staff.
  • Ability to generate ideas for service improvement for discussion within multidisciplinary teams and with individuals and their supports.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and contribute to multidisciplinary team leadership.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and maintain a stable level of productivity.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • At least 2 years of experience with grants management and/or public sector funding, including New York State, New York City, and federal grant and contract experience.
  • Experience undergoing and supervising audits.
  • Knowledge of grant and contract reporting methods and practices and Office of Management and Budget requirements.
  • Ability to present financial data to financial and non-financial customers.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating models and using advanced formulas.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual claims; submit claims and budgets to funders through funder-specific portals, including PASSPort, eCompass, VIPS, SMS, PMS, eLOCCs, and SFS; and ensure compliance with funder requirements such as those of DOHMH, DHS, and HUD.
  • Work on contract and budget renewals and budget modifications for New York City, New York State, federal, and private funding.
  • Monitor contract budgets and program performance monthly.
  • Maintain profit-and-loss and grants-related balance-sheet accounts and regularly review expense allocations for accuracy.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and cash management.
  • Manage the funding database as it relates to grant-makers and maintain accurate files for each funding source.
  • Respond to audit requests under the supervision of the Director of Grants Administration.
  • Analyze year-to-date financial performance of programs.
  • Calculate revenue and expense projections.
  • Ensure timely completion of reports and other correspondence.
  • Analyze results and provide commentary to the Director, Vice President of Grants Administration, and Chief Financial Officer.
  • Assist with implementation and testing of new enterprise resource planning systems and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to five years of proven experience in social services.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems; Microsoft Dynamics NAV is preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting and planning applications.
