Requirements
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in Arkansas, with willingness to waive into Oklahoma, or admitted to practice law and in good standing in Oklahoma, with willingness to waive into Arkansas.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with individuals or groups in a common language.
  • Ability to operate a computer, phone, or equivalent device.
  • Ability to complete a minimum 40-hour flexible workweek schedule.
  • Ability to read and comprehend position-specific documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to lift five pounds or greater, sit for 90% of the workday at times, bend at the waist, remain mobile when needed, concentrate, and use critical thinking.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately with team members and outside parties.
  • Draft, review, and file legal pleadings, motions, discovery, and related documents for active litigation files.
  • Review litigation case files and pleadings to determine appropriate action.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients at various litigation settings.
  • Use internal proprietary software to update and document the status of each account in the assigned inventory.
  • Analyze and process litigation inventory reports and litigation files to ensure proper litigation workflow pursuant to firm and client expectations.
  • Comply with client and firm standard operating procedures.
  • Travel to various courtrooms within the branch office footprint as required.
  • Prepare for and represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including case strategy development, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and presenting oral arguments.
  • Negotiate settlements with consumers and their legal representatives to resolve disputes while protecting client interests.
  • Evaluate case merits, assess risk exposure, and provide strategic legal recommendations.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of one year of litigation or trial experience.
  • Working knowledge of civil procedure.
  • Debt collection experience.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume environment.
