About the job

Requirements
  • You have built or owned a durable workflow, orchestration, or rules engine in production, such as Temporal or Cadence internals, Camunda or Pega engine work, or payments or trade-processing orchestration.
  • You have firsthand experience with replay, in-flight versioning, and idempotency.
  • You are hands-on and write production code, ideally in Go.
  • You have led a team of roughly 5 to 12 engineers while remaining hands-on.
  • You have shipped systems where every automated decision had to be explainable after the fact, in banking, payments, insurance, or another regulated domain.
Responsibilities
  • Architect and build the Durable Execution Platform on Temporal, with workflows defined as data so new business processes ship as new definitions rather than new deployments.
  • Keep the deterministic core deterministic: rules, routing, and state transitions must replay exactly, while model calls and external input/output remain isolated as recorded, retryable activities.
  • Build human-in-the-loop capabilities as a first-class primitive, including review queues, maker-checker, escalation, and pause/resume across hours or days.
  • Solve long-running workflow challenges, including versioning workflows while in flight, idempotent side effects, compensation when a step fails halfway, and exactly-once delivery into downstream bank systems.
  • Capture a decision trace for every run, including which rule fired, what the model returned, and who approved, so the trace satisfies an auditor and feeds back to improve the workflow.
  • Work with the process-discovery (Rx) and design (Cx) teams to define and guard the contract between a designed workflow and one running on the Durable Execution Platform.
  • Write and review code every week and set the team's engineering bar through the work itself.
  • Hire and grow a small, senior team as the Durable Execution Platform takes on more workflows and customers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience putting large language model calls into production workflows with guardrails, evaluations, and fallbacks.
  • Familiarity with Japanese or APAC banking operations and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience delivering into bank-controlled environments, including segmented networks, change control, and in-bank connectors.

About the company

kAIgentic is a platform of agentic AI for banking and financial services that orchestrates autonomous AI agents—such as Customer Experience, Compliance, Knowledge, and Operations—to handle tasks within strict regulatory rules. It integrates with a bank’s core systems to access account data and transactions, enabling contextual, proactive guidance across digital and voice channels; it supports open-source models or Kasisto’s KaiGPT, hosted on-premise or in a private cloud. A key differentiator is its compliance-first design with governance, audit logging, and security to prevent AI hallucinations by grounding outputs in real-time APIs and bank-tuned models. The service targets banks and credit unions, offering customizable agents for specific workflows with deployment flexibility, backed by a Kasisto-SMFG joint venture headquartered in Singapore.

Ex-Microsoft APAC president launches kAIgentic with $10M from SMBC Group to build AI for global enterprises

Former Microsoft APAC president Ahmed Mazhari has launched kAIgentic, an agentic AI startup for enterprise operations, with $10 million funding from SMBC Group, a Japanese multinational financial giant. Headquartered in Singapore with engineering operations in India, the company is building AI deployment infrastructure for large-scale enterprises. kAIgentic will begin operations with SMBC Group as its first customer, testing AI systems within real banking workflows before expanding to other sectors. The platform builds domain-specific AI agents that run under continuous human supervision in live production environments. The launch targets India's enterprise AI market, projected to reach $71 billion by 2030 within a broader $126 billion AI market. kAIgentic's governance structure includes a three-member board balancing startup agility with banking oversight, with plans to expand into healthcare, retail and telecommunications.
