Dr. Amar Bose sketched his concept for noise cancellation technology in 1978 on a flight from Europe to Boston after a disappointing first experience with electronic headphones. That sketch was the foundation for a legacy of sound innovation that would revolutionize the flying experience for pilots. In 1989, Bose introduced the first commercially available active noise reduction headset. Over four decades, Bose engineers have developed products for aviation markets. Amazon just slashed the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds to a record-low price - now $129

Amazon just slashed the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds to a record-low price - now $129. An excellent record-low price for the entry-level Bose earbuds No Black Friday? No worries. December still has plenty of price cuts on tech for last-minute shoppers. If either you or a loved one is shopping for a new pair of earbuds, look no further than these Bose QuietComfort Earbuds at Amazon for $129 (was $179). The QuietComfort Earbuds work well for folks who want to graduate from budget brands without paying a premium for something like the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. While they don't have the more advanced features that the Ultra does, the QuietComfort Earbuds still offer top sound quality, fantastic noise cancellation, and solid battery life for a fraction of the price. Today's best wireless earbuds deal. The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds are some of the best value noise-cancellation earbuds you can buy, especially at this record-low price. In its official review, Intserv rated them 4.5 out of five stars for the ANC, comfort, and sound. You swap between Quiet and Aware modes depending on your needs, and customize your EQ using the Bose QCE app to get the sound just right. The customizable fit, with nine combinations of eartips and stabilizers, just adds more reasons for most people to buy. Bose has launched multiple versions of the QuietComfort Earbuds, all of which received high marks in its reviews. In its Bose QuietComfort Earbuds (2024) review, Intserv rated the latest model 4.5 out of five stars for the great noise cancellation, comfortable fit, and sound quality. The ANC in particular is better than anything its writer tried for around the same price. The QuietComfort Earbuds are meant for on-the-go use, and the features lean into that. The Quiet and Aware modes let you switch between blocking out all noise to hearing just enough to navigate crowded areas. Comfort-wise, nine combinations of eartips and stability bands are included so that you can customize your fit. These also last up to 8.5 hours at full battery, which isn't high, but isn't terrible either. For the best of the best, browse its best wireless earbuds. If you're more concerned about noise cancellation, Intserv also have separate recommendations for the best noise-cancelling earbuds. Save The Music Partners with Bose To Deliver a J Dilla Music Technology Grant to Metro Detroit

Save The Music partners with Bose to deliver a J Dilla Music Technology Grant to Metro Detroit. Photographer: octavia olds; M-1 studio. To celebrate, Save The Music + Bose hosted a hands-on speaker. Build workshop with Southfield High students. In 2025, Save The Music teamed up with Bose, world renowned for premium audio, to deliver a J Dilla Music Technology Grant to Southfield High School for the Arts and Technology in Metro Detroit. The grant includes over 400 pieces of music technology, equipment and is bringing cutting-edge tools and learning opportunities into the classroom. To celebrate Bose's commitment to audio and music, Save The Music facilitated a student activation at Southfield High School, inviting Bose employees to the classroom to see the grant in action. As part of this activation, Bose brought an unforgettable, hands-on audio engineering experience to students. A group of 8 Bose employees - Rashaan Josey, Aaron Jeferson, Tim Shield, Michael Rogers, Courtney Catcho, Timmothy Phung, Yolanda Kempf, and Dawn Henderson - led a full "Speaker Build" workshop designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and technical confidence in the next generation of music makers. Inside the speaker Build workshop. Save The Music introduced the Bose team who then led a planned lesson on the science of sound; drawing a connection to the J Dilla Music Technology grant. Bose broke down how speakers actually work - from electrical signals and magnets to cones, coils, and vibration. Students then rolled up their sleeves and got to work: * Assembling their own functioning speakers * Learning how each component affects sound quality * Experimenting with enclosure design and airflow * Testing their builds with their favorite music and beats The room lit up as students powered on their speakers for the first time - hearing their hard work come alive through systems they built themselves. The Bose x Save The Music impact. Save The Music is proud to partner with Bose to bring music technology to more classrooms in Metro Detroit. In addition to directly expanding access to music technology, the event at Southfield High School helped students envision career pathways and see themselves as creators, engineers, and innovators. For many, this was their first time building a piece of audio equipment from the ground up, an experience that has the potential to shift a young person's perspective on what's possible. "Through our partnership with Save The Music, we are helping local high school students experience the science and creativity behind modern audio firsthand," said Rashaan Josey, President of Bose Automative. "From building their own speakers to discussing real STEAM career paths, these opportunities open the next generation's eyes to what's possible and remind us why investing in music and technology matters." Stay tuned for more highlights from this partnership and the inspiring work happening inside Southfield High's music technology program.

Poco partners with Bose to put a subwoofer in its latest phone

Poco partners with Bose to put a subwoofer in its latest phone. The Poco F8 Ultra includes stereo speakers plus a third driver for bass. Image: Poco Dominic Preston is a news editor with over a decade's experience in journalism. He previously worked at Android Police and Tech Advisor. Xiaomi spin-off brand Poco has partnered with Bose to help its new F8 phones stand out in an increasingly crowded market. Both the F8 Pro and F8 Ultra feature stereo speakers designed collaboratively with the audio company, and the Ultra goes one step further by including a subwoofer too. Both new F8 phones feature the same dual stereo speakers tuned by Bose, though you'll have to buy the Ultra if you want the benefits of the subwoofer as well, which Poco says delivers "deeper, more impactful bass." Additionally, there are two sound profiles tuned by Bose engineers: a Dynamic mode that delivers extra bass, and a Balanced option that emphasizes vocals and a more even soundstage. "By combining Bose's expertise in acoustic engineering with Poco's innovation in design and technology, Poco F8 Series achieves a level of clarity and depth that redefines what's possible in mobile sound," said Nick Smith, president of audio technology and chief strategy officer at Bose. Image: Poco The two phones are otherwise fairly typical affordable flagships. The F8 Ultra has a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, with a large 6.9-inch OLED display, triple 50-megapixel rear camera, and wireless charging. The F8 Pro uses last year's Snapdragon 8 Elite, a smaller 6.59-inch screen, and downgrades to each of the three rear lenses. Both have IP68 ratings though, plus batteries bigger than 6,000mAh, which should deliver decent longevity. The F8 Pro starts from $579, while the Ultra is available from $729, though a $50 early bird discount is available at launch. The two phones were announced alongside a pair of sub-$400 tablets, the Pad X1 and Pad M1, both of which lean on high resolution displays and Dolby Atmos speakers to serve as good value entertainment options.
