Requirements
  • Competency in obstetric/gynecologic, soft tissue/small-part, and abdominal ultrasonography demonstrated through past work experience, clinical hours, or completion of a training program.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography within 18 months of hire, subject to the stated grandfathering exception.
  • Current approved cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of human structure and function, patient care, quality assurance, and specialized ultrasound techniques.
  • Ability to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Responsibilities
  • Perform ultrasound imaging procedures at a technical level without constant supervision of technical detail.
  • Perform procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for specific ultrasound equipment and work areas.
  • Facilitate patient flow.
  • Perform basic patient-care activities under the supervision of department staff.
  • Support and contribute to the service-excellence mission of Enloe Medical Center and the Ultrasound Department.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of ultrasound experience.
  • Previous experience in an acute-care environment.
  • Competency in all ultrasound examinations, including interventional and vascular ultrasound.
  • Completion of an ultrasound training program.
  • Certification in nuchal translucency through the Nuchal Translucency Quality Review.
  • Certification as a Registered Vascular Technologist by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
  • High attention to detail, self-motivation, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
