Requirements
  • Active, in-scope United States Government-issued Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 or higher certification.
  • Experience responding to helpdesk tickets and resolving technical issues for hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Experience supporting Windows, macOS, Linux, and common software applications.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving connectivity problems, including LAN/WAN and VPN issues.
  • Experience assisting end users with system logins, password resets, and account management.
  • An associate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or 2 or more years of IT helpdesk support experience and 2 or more years of computer/IT hardware support experience; experience may be concurrent.
Responsibilities
  • Provide Tier 1 technical support, including initial trouble-ticket and call prioritization, diagnosis, analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution of basic client hardware and software issues.
  • Provide Tier 1 hands-on support to users on the AOC/CAOC floor.
  • Provide solutions by phone or remotely when feasible, and coordinate with and escalate tickets to back shops or other functional areas when required.
  • Follow up with end users on ticket status and verify problem resolution before closing trouble tickets.
  • Create and manage organizational and user accounts, and assign, modify, and delete passwords and user privileges in accordance with AFCENT guidance.
  • Manage the SIPR PKI program.
  • Coordinate Firewall Exemption Requests and Bluecoat Exemption Requests.
  • Maintain CFP status display systems to remotely monitor and track systems, networks, connections, internal and external links, and circuits.
  • Serve as the focal point for ASIs and time-change order/item management, processing, tracking, and status reporting across network enclaves.
  • Maintain status-tracking applications and tools; create, update, and coordinate status reports and presentation slides; and brief AFCENT leadership on outages and failures.
  • Add, move, and change client hardware and software to meet end-user data, voice, mobile, and video needs.
  • Provide system support to clients operating on the network or domain.
  • Configure client-level software, modify software configurations, and perform basic configuration-management functions.
  • Notify the unit Equipment Custodian of hardware relocations and equipment problems, and install equipment in accordance with AFCENT and SPIN-C directives.
  • Assist with installing, testing, and accepting new systems according to purchase-contract terms and instructions.
  • Periodically review organizational computer-resource needs and validate computer-equipment requirements.
  • Promote user awareness regarding unauthorized or illegal use of computer hardware and software.
  • Implement client-workstation software patches, security fixes, and service releases according to local instructions.
  • Perform other duties as required.
