About the job

Requirements
  • At least 10 years of product management experience, including at least 4 years at Director or Vice President level in healthcare or health technology.
  • Demonstrated experience building product operating models and product culture, rather than only managing an existing model.
  • Deep understanding of clinical workflows, physician experience, and patient digital engagement in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience owning products across clinical and operational domains, such as scheduling, care coordination, and facility operations.
  • Track record of shipping products that changed measurable business outcomes, not just features.
  • Experience managing design (UX) as an integral part of the product function.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, including representing users amid operational and financial pressures.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical context and earn clinicians' trust, including understanding the work of an operating-room day.
  • Ability to create structure amid ambiguity without a fully formed playbook.
  • Ability to partner authentically with Engineering, understand technical debt, and respect engineering judgment.
  • Ability to build team identity and product culture, making product management a career destination at SCA Health.
  • Ability to give and receive direct feedback and establish a team culture where honest assessment is normal.
Responsibilities
  • Define SCA Health's product strategy across patient, clinician, and facility operations domains.
  • Own the multi-year product roadmap, translate enterprise strategic priorities into product bets, and make explicit prioritization decisions when demand exceeds capacity.
  • Build the product operating model, including discovery practices, intake and prioritization, delivery rhythm, measurement frameworks, and the relationship between Product, Engineering, and Data & AI.
  • Audit, name, scope, and decide whether immature or undefined capability initiatives should be accelerated, restructured, or retired.
  • Establish a structured incubation model with time-boxed experiments, clear success criteria, and transparent graduation or retirement gates.
  • Own product strategy for patient-facing digital experiences and clinical workflow tools, including scheduling, access, the pre- and post-operative digital journey, physician performance dashboards, and clinical decision-support interfaces.
  • Own product strategy for operational tools that improve facility throughput, operating-room utilization, supply-chain efficiency, and staff management; partner with the COO, VP SCO, and facility leadership.
  • Build SCA's shared design capability, including UX research practice, interaction design, the SCA Health design system, and accessibility standards.
  • Ensure products meet clinical usability and patient health-literacy requirements.
  • Chair SCA Health's Product Council to align product priorities with enterprise strategy, resolve prioritization conflicts, and ensure clinical and operational stakeholders have a voice in product decisions.
  • Own the make-or-source decision framework for the product portfolio; rigorously assess vendor solutions against build options and ensure buy decisions preserve SCA's ability to integrate, customize, and own the user experience.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in ambulatory surgery, ambulatory surgery centers, or multi-site specialty care.
  • Experience building products on or alongside EHR platforms such as Epic, Athena, or Meditech.
  • Familiarity with FDA-regulated software and Software as a Medical Device considerations for digital health products.
  • Experience embedding AI or machine-learning capabilities into clinical or operational product experiences.
  • Track record of building physician-facing products and earning physician trust at the partnership level.
  • Experience in a private-equity-backed or high-growth, multi-site healthcare organization.
  • Outcome-based product management that measures success in clinical and business results rather than feature delivery velocity.
  • Discovery discipline that rigorously validates problems and solutions before committing to build.
  • Prioritization rigor that makes explicit trade-offs and defends them with evidence rather than politics.
  • Design partnership that treats UX as a strategic capability rather than a service function.
  • Data fluency, using product analytics and clinical data to drive roadmap decisions.
  • Build-versus-buy judgment that evaluates vendor solutions with appropriate skepticism and specificity.
