Requirements
  • Minimum of 18 months working as a Licensed Advanced Practice Provider.
  • A Master's Degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is required.
  • New Jersey APN and RN license or PA license.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants certification.
  • Competence in all areas covered by the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Advanced Practice Providers: TSICU, TSDU, floors, and Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Clinic.
Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Schedule the Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Advanced Practice Providers to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines and nursing leadership on Trauma/Acute Care Surgery and Cooper University Health Care initiatives.
  • Participate in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery performance improvement meetings and initiatives.
  • Participate in Trauma Center outreach and educational initiatives.
  • Participate in the Trauma Center re-verification process.
  • Assess staffing needs and collaborate with the Trauma Medical Director and leadership to present requests for new positions.
  • Collaborate with Cooper University Health Care Talent Acquisition to recruit for positions.
  • Oversee onboarding for new hires.
  • Oversee Advanced Practice Provider students rotating through Trauma/Acute Care Surgery.
  • Participate in Cooper University Health Care Advanced Practice Provider initiatives, such as the Advanced Practice Nurse Council.
