Requirements
The candidate must be at least 18 years old at the start of camp, or be a high school graduate who is a dependent living in Hume staff housing.
No previous experience or specific skills are required.
The candidate must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
The candidate must be willing to perform physical tasks and work indoors or outdoors as needed.
The candidate must be dependable, punctual, and able to work under supervision.
The candidate must agree with and support Hume Christian Camps’ Statement of Faith.
The candidate must have a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to share the Gospel through word and deed.
The candidate must be able to stand, walk, frequently lift 50 pounds, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.
The candidate must be able to live and work in extreme weather conditions, at high altitude, and in small living quarters.
Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and serving meals to campers and guests in one or more assigned kitchen roles: cook, baker, dishwasher, host/hostess, pantry assistant, or commissary assistant.
Follow all safety procedures and directions provided by supervisors.
Contribute to a Christ-centered team environment through a positive and cooperative attitude.
Represent Hume Christian Camps’ values and mission through conduct, attitude, and service.
Vision for the Role: The Food Service Assistant plays a vital role in creating a distraction-free environment for guests and maintaining spaces that help facilitate ministry and guest experiences. This individual provides general help and assistance in the preparation and serving of meals to campers and guests, ensuring a delicious and sanitary dining experience.
