Manufacturing Engineer - Aerospace
On-site in Plano, Monday through Friday.
About the job
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- A minimum of 3-5+ years of experience is required.
- Goal-oriented, with the ability to prioritize consistently in an ever-changing environment.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to communicate key data effectively, including presentations to senior management, board members, committee members, or outside partners.
- Technical and business knowledge including financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with LabView, Mastercam, or SolidWorks is required.
- Lean Silver, Six Sigma, or Certified Mechanical Engineer certification is required.
- Applicants must have valid U.S. work authorization.
- Design innovative new products that meet functional, cost, reliability, manufacturability, and safety requirements.
- Engage in system concept development, requirements engineering, system architecture development and evaluation, and test strategy development.
- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product or program requirements.
- Investigate and resolve operational problems, such as material use variances or bottlenecks.
- Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes and products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, and product design.
- Document technical data generated by assigned projects in accordance with engineering policies and procedures.
- Identify, quantify, and implement tools, methods, processes, and equipment that can improve departmental quality, reliability, and productivity.
- Use advanced techniques and modified extensions of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
- Determine and develop an approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
- Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive system-level optimization.
- Own the product delivery timeline through conception, design, assembly, and launch.
- Identify and resolve defects of basic scope using appropriate engineering tools and techniques.
- Perform other job duties as required.
