Responsibilities
  • Participate in the day-to-day activities of the investment banking division.
  • Collaborate on live deals and client pitches, support the team in advising corporate clients, and deliver structured solutions aligned with client goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives.
  • Participate in training and development programs.
  • Identify opportunities, develop business cases, and manage the deployment and launch of new investment banking products and services.
  • Manage client relationships, provide customer service support, respond to product and service questions, and process transactions under decreasing supervision.
  • Develop and implement financial models and strategies that support decision-making in investment banking.
  • Work on financial analysis and modeling, valuation, industry research, client due diligence, and written materials such as offering memoranda and new business presentations.
  • Work with investment banking industry, product, or geographic groups on live deals and deal proposals.
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Perform assigned activities in a timely manner and to a consistently high standard.
  • Partner with other functions and business areas.
  • Escalate policy and procedure breaches appropriately.
  • Embed new policies and procedures adopted for risk mitigation.
  • Advise and influence decision-making within the area of expertise.
  • Manage risk and strengthen controls for owned or contributed work in line with applicable rules, regulations, and codes of conduct.
  • Build understanding of how the sub-function integrates with the broader function and of its products, services, and processes.
  • Make evaluative judgments based on factual information and attention to detail.
  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions using acquired technical experience and precedents.
  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex or sensitive information.
  • Act as a contact point for stakeholders outside the immediate function and build internal and external networks.

Barclays appoints Wee Yee-Yeong to head private bank in Singapore and Asia

Barclays has appointed Wee Yee-Yeong as head of private bank for Singapore and Asia, effective later this year. He will oversee private banking operations in Singapore and lead regional strategy for international Asian clients. Yee-Yeong joins from Morgan Stanley, where he serves as chief executive and head of sales for Singapore wealth management. He brings over 20 years of wealth management experience, having held senior positions at Bank of Singapore, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, UBS Wealth Management, and Merrill Lynch. He will replace Alexander Harrison, who served as interim head. The appointment follows Barclays' launch of its Singapore booking centre earlier this month, marking a key step in the bank's Asia Pacific growth strategy.

Form Energy closes $270M credit facility to scale iron-air battery production

Form Energy has closed a $270 million credit facility to support its energy storage technology development. The facility comprises a revolving credit facility and a tax credit advance facility linked to Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit. An accordion feature allows the facility to expand to $1 billion. Barclays served as sole structuring bank, with Citi, Jefferies, JPMorgan Chase, RBC Capital Markets, Societe Generale, Stifel, and Wells Fargo participating in the lending syndicate. The financing follows Form Energy's $750 million Series G funding round in August, bringing total equity raised to over $2 billion. Proceeds will fund manufacturing scale-up and working capital as the company produces iron-air battery systems at its Weirton, West Virginia facility.
