Goodyear up 6% after $2.2B divestitures cut debt and $320M Oklahoma expansion boosts premium tire capacity 30%

Goodyear Tire & Rubber shares rose 6% following strategic moves to strengthen its balance sheet and production capabilities. The company completed three major divestitures generating over $2.2 billion, which it used to retire high-interest debt. Separately, Goodyear concluded a four-year, $320 million expansion of its Lawton, Oklahoma plant, boosting capacity by nearly 30% to add 10 million larger-rim tyres annually. The expansion supports the company's pivot toward higher-margin premium tyres, including products for electric vehicles. Despite recently dropping from first to shared second place in J.D. Power's 2026 U.S. Original Equipment Tyre Customer Satisfaction Study, Goodyear's focus on premium products and cost reduction signals a shift toward improved efficiency and financial flexibility. Analysts project revenue of $18.5 billion by 2029, though risks from tariffs and low-cost imports remain.

Goodyear Blimp Europe tour 2026: A European motorsport comeback. * By TT News * April 04, 2026 The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has officially launched its 2026 Goodyear Blimp Europe tour, returning the iconic airship to the skies above European motorsport events. This marks a highly anticipated comeback for one of aviation's most famous aircraft, which will first appear during the opening FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race of the season. Spectators at the track can expect a breathtaking sight as the blimp soars overhead, enhancing the atmosphere of race weekend. For decades, the Goodyear Blimp has been closely linked with legendary sporting moments and stands as a proud emblem of Goodyear's racing heritage. Its planned flights over FIA WEC races will allow both live attendees and global viewers to catch a glimpse of the airship capturing stunning aerial footage. This tour takes on added significance as Goodyear celebrates 75 years of operations in Luxembourg, a milestone year for the company in Europe. Beyond tyre production, Luxembourg hosts Goodyear's only Innovation Centre outside United States, where cutting edge technologies and motorsport partnerships are developed. Fans attending select FIA World Endurance Championship events across Europe throughout the 2026 season are encouraged to watch the skies for the blimp's appearances. The tour not only highlights Goodyear's deep roots in racing but also underscores its longstanding commitment to European innovation and manufacturing excellence. Bestway Tire - Edmonton, AB.

Bestway Tire - Edmonton, AB. In a high-utility environment like Bestway Tire in Edmonton, the floor takes a beating that most retail spaces never experience. Tire shops deal with a unique cocktail of contaminants: heavy road salt, oily residues, and abrasive gravel tracked in from the service bays. To maintain a professional showroom that reflects their expertise in the tire industry, Bestway Tire required a matting solution that combined aggressive soil removal with high-impact brand reinforcement. For this project, Canada Mat moved beyond standard entrance mats to implement a specialized Custom Logo Mat system. This isn't just about aesthetics; it is about creating a functional barrier that protects the interior flooring while establishing immediate brand authority the moment a customer walks through the door. The solution: heavy-duty logo branding & protection. A tire showroom requires a specific type of matting fiber. It needs to be coarse enough to "scrub" the deep treads of work boots but dense enough to hold gallons of moisture. Canada Mat utilized its high-definition logo matting technology to produce a series of runners that anchor the showroom space. As seen in the project photos, Canada Mat didn't stop at the Bestway Tire brand. Canada Mat also integrated secondary branding for key partners like Goodyear and Vision Wheel. This "doing" focused approach provides several strategic benefits for the business: * Strategic Brand Alignment: By featuring the Goodyear wingfoot and Vision Wheel logos alongside their own, Bestway Tire visually communicates their status as an authorized, premium dealer. This builds instant trust with customers looking for specific performance brands. * Precision Inlay Technology: These logos are not simply painted on the surface. They are produced using a precision-dye process that penetrates deep into the carpet pile. This is critical for an Edmonton tire shop; it ensures the logos remain vibrant and professional despite constant exposure to grit and cleaning chemicals. * Safety & Transition Management: Canada Mat utilized low-profile safety edging on all mats. In a space where customers are often looking up at tire displays rather than down at their feet, ensuring a perfectly flat transition from the tile to the mat is a non-negotiable safety requirement. * Mottled Charcoal Base: Canada Mat selected a Charcoal base for the matting. This specific "salt and pepper" pattern is the gold standard for automotive environments because it effectively hides the light-colored salt stains common in Alberta winters. Project details. Results: A cleaner, more authoritative showroom. By replacing generic mats with this coordinated branding system, Bestway Tire has effectively transformed their floor into a marketing asset. The heavy-duty pile acts as a silent janitor, trapping contaminants that would otherwise dull the polished floor tiles or create slippery patches near the service counter. From a specialist's perspective, this installation succeeds because it addresses both the "look" and the "logic" of the space. It tells the customer they are in a professional facility while simultaneously reducing the dealership's daily maintenance costs and liability risks. This is how smart businesses in Edmonton manage their infrastructure.

Goodyear targets 'super-regional' sweet spot with new steer tire.

Goodyear targets 'super-regional' sweet spot with new steer tire. Goodyear is preparing to roll out a new steer tire designed to bridge the gap between regional and linehaul for trucking fleets. March 25, 2026 2 min to read As trucking fleet duty cycles continue to blur the lines between traditional regional and linehaul operations, Goodyear is preparing to roll out a new steer tire designed specifically for what it calls the growing "super-regional" segment. At the Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting in Nashville, Heavy Duty Trucking stopped by the Goodyear booth for a preview of its upcoming Endurance SRS (Super Regional Steer) tire, a product aimed at fleets whose operations don't fit neatly into traditional tire categories. A segment that keeps evolving. The emergence of the super-regional category reflects broader shifts in freight movement. There are more and more regional operations today, partly because truck drivers are less willing to stay on the road for weeks at a time. But at the same time, the line has been blurring between regional haul and linehaul. These trucks might travel 500 miles in a day, predominantly on-highway, but they still deal with stopping, starting, turning, and the scuffing of city driving, Goodyear says. That mixed-duty cycle creates a challenge for tire design. Linehaul tires are optimized for fuel efficiency and long, steady runs, while regional tires are built to withstand scrub and turning. Super-regional operations demand both. It's a fine balance between wear, fuel economy, and durability. Ad Loading... Tire designed for mileage and scrub resistance. According to information displayed at the booth, Goodyear's Endurance SRS incorporates several features aimed at extending tread life while maintaining even wear: * Advanced tread compound to resist wear in higher-scrub applications * Rib-edge sipes designed to promote even wear and longer removal miles * Enhanced 20/32-inch tread depth for higher mileage in regional routes * Pressure distribution grooves to help manage shoulder wear The goal, Goodyear said, is to deliver long miles to removal without sacrificing resistance to irregular wear. Fleets driving demand. The concept is a direct result of fleet feedback. Customers have told Goodyear that they need a tire that fits between traditional regional tires and linehaul tires. While Goodyear has not officially announced availability, the tire already has undergone extensive development and testing.
